The location was perfect for skiing at multiple areas. This was about the only redeeming feature. First off the front and back doors are protected by an electric fence, to discourage bears. It would certainly discourage humans who come in contact with it, safety first! This home is dark, as in no lights in upstairs bathroom, it's not very warm, climate or ambiance. Need to run furnace at 75 non stop to be comfortable. Almost forgot, downstairs bathroom is nasty, paneling peeling just worn out. Meagerly stocked kitchen. It would make a great Section 8 rental. Sorry for my honesty, this place is not worth the money charged and should not be available for rental.Tahoma
Located in the West Shore neighborhood of Tahoma, this charming two-level cabin is surrounded by a forested landscape. With a secluded location, lovely wood-paneled exteriors, and a wraparound wooden deck, this cabin makes for a wonderful rustic rental.
The entire cabin is decorated with wood accents and a color theme of white and brown all over, lending a rustic—but nevertheless charming — feel to the home. The ground floor has an open living-dining-kitchen area, with large windows all around that let in the light and make the space bright and airy. The living area features whitewashed walls and a wooden ceiling—which along with the rich brown carpet — makes it cozy and inviting. The living area also has multiple plush couches that face the wood-burning stove and the large flat-screen TV. The dining and kitchen area have wooden floors instead of carpeting, and continue to reflect the color theme of the home. The dining table and the kitchen cabinetry are painted white with brown accents. Bar stools at the island counter provide additional seating options for quick meals.
All three bedrooms in this home feature big, comfortable beds, wooden furniture, and large windows. The master bedroom is on the upper floor and has a small TV set in addition to the king bed, wooden dressers, and a small desk and chair. The vaulted ceilings and wood accents in the room add a touch of rustic charm. The second bedroom on the upper floor also features a king bed, and is cozy and attractive. The bedroom on the ground floor has private access to the deck and hot tub right outside. There are two newly renovated bathrooms in this home as well; one full bath is downstairs and another bathroom with a walk-in shower is on the upper floor.
This home features a large deck that wraps around the whole house and comes with comfortable patio furniture, a charcoal grill, and lots of space to sit or stand around and chat with friends. The main attraction of this home is the large, sunken hot tub that is out on the deck. You can host a BBQ on the large deck while enjoying the view — or simply relax in the hot tub after a tiring day out skiing or hiking.

Place was great. If you wanted to look for an had the slowest WiFi ever. I understand that we all need to unplug. I work too much and I know this but 1.24 DL speeds is a little ridiculous. Other than that..... place was perfect:)Tahoma

Overall, the stay was excellent. The house was in pristine condition. However the garages were not useable, as they were occupied by the owner?s trailer. This forced us to park our cars outside in the snow. Even though we requested the rental office to remove the trailer, unfortunately no action was taken place.South Lake Tahoe 14.77 miles

The amenities were great and as described. We probably were there the coldest weekend in Tahoe, both mornings the temperature read -14 and -11, as such it seemed the heater was not working properly but compared to the outside it was warm. Taking space heaters if you go in the winter would not be a bad idea though. It was close to town and the casinos. We rode up on a weekend that required chains (we don't know how to put them on so we left them on during our stay) so it took a while to get into town - otherwise it is within close proximity of the town, resorts and casinos. Very unique set up and cute little place. We did encounter a critter during our stay but the maintenance people were quick to remove it, additionally they were also quick in checking on a faucet that would not turn completely off.South Lake Tahoe 16.1 miles

Quiet, spacious home. Great patio with gas grill. Well stocked kitchen. Negatives: cheap hand soap, and toiletries. The lock to retrieve the key is old and we were given the wrong unlock code. Vacayhero and The Pinnacle rental company miscommunicated on our check in time and payment. Vavayhero's concierge was wonderful and helped make this family getaway memorable.South Lake Tahoe 15.48 miles

Great property, well laid out in a good location (15minute or so walk from the slopes). The property is opposite the club house for the condo unit and so you can easily walk over to the pool (was closed in winter), hot tubs (open!) and fitness centre etc. The agents were helpful and super responsive
Only thing that was excessive and not pleasant (and in my opinion way over the top vs other rentals i've stayed at), was the endless list of rules and regulations and threats of fines or extra charges for non-compliance. i.e. even for failure to load the dishwasher upon leaving! You were reminded about these via signs, emails, folders etc.
I'm not sure if they've had bad experiences from other renters, but my advice would be to calm down a bit on these...!South Lake Tahoe 23.45 miles

My family is thinking abount renting this home in the future :)South Lake Tahoe 13.13 miles
This charming, recently remodeled cabin has awesome lake views and lovely surroundings. This lovely cabin is the perfect retreat for a couple or a small family. Come here and let the calming beauty rejuvenate you, making you feel at one with nature.
This lovely little two-level cabin comes with wooden interiors and newly installed flooring, which combine to add a rustic charm to the entire cabin. The well-lit living room features comfortable sofas, lovely wooden tables, and a wall unit with the TV inside of it. Further on from the living room is the dining area, and towards its left of that is the kitchen. The wooden dining table is artistically done in wooden planks and so are the two-seaters on either side of the table. The innovative kitchen has been recently remodeled and it has everything you'll need for meals and entertaining. The most interesting part of the kitchen décor is the double-door refrigerator that has been placed underneath the staircase. The only bathroom in this house is located further on from the dining room. With a covered shower stall and beautiful lights adding a lovely glow, the newly remodeled bathroom looks great.
Take the staircase upstairs and you will see that the walls near the stairs are covered with bookcases for you to get your fill of great literature—or of pulp fiction. On both sides of the staircase are the two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a lovely queen bed, a wooden chest of drawers, bedside lamps, and a wicker basket in the corner adding a cozy atmosphere. The rocking chair and the wood paneling give a cheery, rustic feel to the room. The two mirrors toward one side of the bed give the room a larger look and feel. Across from this bedroom is the second bedroom, simplistically decorated with heavy carpeting and a day bed (two twins) with cheery linens. The rocking chair in the corner of the room gives it a homey feel. The rooms are so comfortable that you won't want to leave the cozy warmth of their interiors. There is a separate laundry room with a washer and dryer.
Grab a novel from the bookcase in the stairwell and cozy up on the couch in front of the picture window overlooking the lake—or sit out on the large wraparound deck and enjoy the gorgeous views. The large wraparound deck is a treat for those sunny summer afternoons or those glorious winter evenings. This cabin-in-the-woods is great for a couple's retreat, but it's also perfect for a small family.
Enjoy your Carnelian Bay vacation rental.
The cabin was exactly as described, and provided a cozy retreat. We enjoyed our stay there, and would definitely return. We found the beds exactly to our liking - not too firm and not too soft. The location is convenient for walking to BBQ spots, restaurants and shops. Amenities are basic as described (some may not like doing their own dishes, but we don't mind). Chefs take note: if you plan to cook your meals, you may want to bring any special kitchen items your recipes call for (sharp knives, spatula, cheese grater, serving platters and bowls, etc. - e.g., there was no cheese grater, so we bought one from the grocery store and donated it to the cabin) and basic cooking ingredients (salt, pepper, spices, etc.). While many rentals in the Tahoe area stock these items, this cabin does not. However, pots and pans, plates, bowls, flatware, mugs and drinking glasses are abundant.Carnelian Bay 11.11 miles
