Great place to stay in. Off Pioneer Trail, close to downtown and other hot spots in South Lake Tahoe. Fully-equipped with utensils, towels, etc. However, the steep cleaning charge of $350 is too high!
This was a really comfy rental and a beautiful house. However, for the price we paid I would have expected more of an attention to detail. There were a few things that were frustrating: - The cleaning fee was extortinate- we were there for a day and a half! - There was a non refundable security deposit, but we didn't break a thing. - The gas for the BBQ ran out on Saturday and we had to replace it and drive to do so, leaving us late having dinner and $25 out of pocket. - We arrived when it was late and dark and none of us could open the key safe. We are 6 intelligent adults, 3 of which are engineers and it took us 3 phone calls and an hour to get into the property. There were no instructions advising how to unlock the box, simply a code that wouldn't work. - One room had a pull out bed, not a proper bed and another simply had a mattress on the floor. The pillows also weren't very comfortable. If you want to charge luxury prices, I would advise the property to invest in some beds as a starting point! Although it was a nice place, all of the above left us with a poor taste in our mouths.
The title say's it all...absolutely great experience. Highly recommend to anyone!!
Had a fantastic week in this lovely condo with my family. It sleeps at least six adults with ease and having three full bathrooms means that three couples have full facilities to themselves. The property is very well appointed and the only item we wanted for was a hair dryer which Buckingham Properties, the agents, provided same day. Quality service from them too! The new hot tub on the balcony is excellent and, whilst we didn't use it, there is a large BBQ too. There's real peace and privacy too as adjacent properties are some way apart. Perfect for a ski or activity holiday in one of the most beautiful spots in the world!
The South Lake Tahoe area is filled with amazing activities for the whole family. For the skiiers and snowboarders, Heavenly Mountain Resort offers some great powder during the winter time. The Gondola at this resort is one of the most popular attractions in all of Tahoe. If you're looking for other outdoor options, though, such as hiking, mountain biking, or nature walks, be sure you hit up the Mount Tallac Trail, Pope Beach, Taylor Creek, Lower Eagle Falls, Van Sickle Bi-State Park, or the Bijou Community Park (disc golf is popular here). The South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena offers some great ice skating year round and Adventure Mountain is a great place to sled in the winter. Some other activities you might consider are hot-air-balloon rides, helicopter tours, boat tours, nature tours, wine-tasting tours, and heritage tours. For the educationally minded, Valhalla at Lake Tahoe and the Lake Tahoe Historical Society Museum offer great historical information about the area. You can even catch your own dinner at the Tahoe Trout Farm! If being indoors is more your style, South Lake Tahoe has tons of great restaurants, bars, spas, galleries, and shops. Like the rest of Tahoe, there's plenty of access to kayaking, canoeing, boating, paddleboarding, and parasailing in this area, too. One of the best outdoor activities, though, is Regan Beach, which gets crowded but offers some great swimming and some stunning views. Oh, and you might drive a bit north to check out Fallen Leaf Lake, too! It's a great photo opportunity.
