We arrived after traveling for 9 hours and arrived to one of the rooms still being dirty (bed clearly slept in and unmade) and the kitchen table still dirty. We washed the sheets ourselves and contacted management on Monday who offered to waive the cleaning fee, which I had to follow-up on because it was not done after weeks from our stay.
The layout of the house was perfect, on the bottom floor. The upper loft was incredibly stuffy, and clearly not used often. The most disappointing thing of the house was that it was so much more dated than the photos. The lightening on the pictures made things look much nicer and newer than they were. The sheets and towels were clearly very old and used, such a holes and tears etc. My kids had a toy fall below the couch and when we moved it, it clearly had not been cleaned underneath in a long time. The rugs were old and had many stains. This was a vacation with my in-laws and 4 children and we were disappointed in the quality of things. For a few hundred dollars, replacing the sheets and towels would go a long way. Reflooring with wood would help. It's a great layout and perfect location, close to many attractions and stores. But I would not recommend staying here until it is redone. Do not let the photos fool you like it did us. The management company was nice when we contacted them but having to follow up for the refund was unhelpful. I think many other people would have contacted the company on a Saturday night and complained loudly with the place still being dirty, but my husband and I understand that things get overlooked and waiting till Monday to be reasonable. We are very understanding and use to good but not great quality hotels etc. especially having young kids and busy lifestyle but this was below our standards.

We had a wonderful trip with tons of snow. The McKay Cabin was exactly what we were hoping it would be and more. We will be coming back for sure and going through Pinnacle to do so. Michelle was a huge help before, during and after our stay.
We absolutely loved renting this cabin! The kids swarmed the loft, we adults each enjoyed our comfy bedrooms. It's a very "family friendly" home. The huge kitchen table allowed us to all sit and play games, eat, and no one had to take their plate to the living room. The outside area around cabin was so peaceful and kids loved roaming around exploring near the cabin. We will definitely be back! Pinnacle staff is superior in service and so enjoyable to work with.
Great layout for families, Great location.
We spent a family new years vacation. Great space for 9 people. The property looks better and larger in the photos but the space was fine. The house is very old and needs upkeeping. Some of the cabinet doors where hanging off the hinges, some of the pans where grimy and need replacing. We had most of the basic things you expect (toilet paper, etc) but no napkins. Very close to Sierra.
The house was very cozy and had a very warm, inviting space. The layout itself was very conducive to hanging out and enjoying time with friends and family with plenty of beds (some of them a little on the older/softer side). The kids loved the spiral staircase to the loft but it is a little steep for more physically challenged people. The location is in Meyers - a little further away from the main strip of South Lake Tahoe and loved the serenity and more mountainous feel. The kitchen and bathrooms have been renovated. The kitchen was also well stocked with appliances and cookware. We did have some issues here and there (no hair dryer, arrived with dirty dishes in dishwasher, closet doors off hinges and sitting in room, pilot light of fireplace out, clogged shower) but the property managers did address the concerns after a few phone/email exchanges.
we had a great stay. the space was clean and spacious. will come and stay here again.
The South Lake Tahoe area is filled with amazing activities for the whole family. For the skiiers and snowboarders, Heavenly Mountain Resort offers some great powder during the winter time. The Gondola at this resort is one of the most popular attractions in all of Tahoe. If you're looking for other outdoor options, though, such as hiking, mountain biking, or nature walks, be sure you hit up the Mount Tallac Trail, Pope Beach, Taylor Creek, Lower Eagle Falls, Van Sickle Bi-State Park, or the Bijou Community Park (disc golf is popular here). The South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena offers some great ice skating year round and Adventure Mountain is a great place to sled in the winter. Some other activities you might consider are hot-air-balloon rides, helicopter tours, boat tours, nature tours, wine-tasting tours, and heritage tours. For the educationally minded, Valhalla at Lake Tahoe and the Lake Tahoe Historical Society Museum offer great historical information about the area. You can even catch your own dinner at the Tahoe Trout Farm! If being indoors is more your style, South Lake Tahoe has tons of great restaurants, bars, spas, galleries, and shops. Like the rest of Tahoe, there's plenty of access to kayaking, canoeing, boating, paddleboarding, and parasailing in this area, too. One of the best outdoor activities, though, is Regan Beach, which gets crowded but offers some great swimming and some stunning views. Oh, and you might drive a bit north to check out Fallen Leaf Lake, too! It's a great photo opportunity.
