We had a great time on Sanibel. We've visited before but never stayed . . . loved it and learned a lot, too. Our condo was clean, comfortable, quiet and we will rent it again next year. Loved being on the beach and we rented bikes and went all over on them. We also liked the quieter pool. A couple things to improve: really slow internet; the toilet wobbles; the shower could really be replaced with a grab bar, better faucet, and some place to put shampoo, etc.; dishes are very dated and sparse (we bought mugs to use); bi-fold door and closet door are broken; and the deck chairs were bad, dirty, and cracked. All these things would improve the place immensely and, for the money, make the renter feel it's a better value. Perhaps they'll be done before we return next year ?? ReMax staff was great!!

The island, the resort, the beaches, and the eateries were better than advertised. The Unit I201 was a bit disappointing. The main patio door was all but inoperable, the privacy drapes were very difficult to open and close, the largest cabinet door in the bedroom could not be closed as it was out of alignment, the unit was very "original" lacking modernization, the carpeting (particularly in the bedroom) was rather badly stained, and the unit did not have a land line phone. The view was nice, the furnishings were functional. In our opinion the unit needed a thorough cleaning, a number of minor repairs, and some updating. The restaurants, cruises, and shops were all splendid. Not a bad experience anywhere.

2nd time back at Sundial in 2017, this time we booked a condo unit for the week thru a rental agency and not the actual resort itself. This unit has views of the ocean and is located just a stones throw from the beach as well as the resort pool and tiki bar, but be warned -- unless you have a Sundial wrist band, they may ask you to leave the main pool area since that is off limits to people who do not make reservations with the resort itself. There is another pool within walking distance that is just as nice and less crowded anyway. The unit has a great kitchen and dining room area, just hit Publix for some groceries before you cross the bridge or be prepared to pay island prices for common goods. The bathroom shower has zero water pressure and the bedroom is a little dated, but the bed was firm and comfortable. The same can't be said for the sofa bed in the living room, so be forewarned. You may want to bring a mattress topper or even an inflatable mattress if sleeping more than two people. Excellent wifi and the a/c blows cold throughout the unit. The beach supplies weren't very impressive so you may want to bring your own. Great BBQ area downstairs and the convenience store on the premises has a great selection of stuff. Because of the unit's location to the beach I would recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy Sanibel and Captiva on a budget.

Great location, beautiful area, very nice amenities for a rental getaway on Sanibel. Unit I-201 was very convenient to access, with a short walk to the beach and pool as well as the main building at Sundial for restaurant and store. Plenty of storage with cabinets in living room and bedroom. Having a grill outside the unit made it easy to have a homemade meal. Beach chairs and umbrella were provided.
So many restaurants to choose from on both Sanibel and Captiva it would be hard to mention them all (loved Il Cielo, Cip's Place and the quirky Cheeburger Cheeburger). Beaches are wonderful with more shells than I've ever seen (so many you have to wear shoes to walk over them)
Decorating a little old and some items need a little TLC. The shower controls were so loose we thought they'd break inside the wall. Carpets were in need of at least cleaning, if not replacement. The iron leaked water all over the clothes I tried to press. Bathroom sink so slow to drain I had to use plunger several times to clear it.
All in all a really nice place that needs a little to make it an excellent one.

Wonderful!! Amazing view!!

overall, a great trip. Good access to restaurants on the island. But be aware, the resort is not user friendly to condo renters. We were early, and the resort would not loan a towel before access to condo.

The bathroom needs updating. As you take a shower, you feel like you are going to fall through the floor. The bottom of the tub is stained. Ants crawled around in bathroom, kitchen and on counter. We were VERY disappointed. Loved the resort itself, but this condo did not compare to our friend's condo and they paid the exact dame.

Very pleasant, would do it again, except for the
problem with the keys.

Everything was as described. Came in for a work function and am looking forward to a return visit.

The unit location was good; however, the interior is in need of updating. The kitchen utensils were inadequate. Yes, there is a dishwasher, but in order to get maximum use of it, the unit should have more dishes. Also, the cleaning supplies were too little. We were there for one week and were given one very small bottle of Palmolive dish liquid and two packets of dishwasher cleaners. The pots and pans are very old and disgusting. We had 6 coffee cups. Now onto the TVs. They have not kept up with the latest technology. They do not give you a guide so that you can choose what you want to watch. Yes, there was a station list, but we're accustomed to viewing a guide on the screen. Now for the ceiling fan in the bedroom and kitchen...the pull chain was all of 3 inches long, making it impossible for anyone not 6 feet tall to reach it. The carpets need updating or a good cleaning. The Management Company would not release any units until all 10 units were cleaned. We had to wait more than 4 hours before we could get occupancy.

The unit was perfect- very cozy with not the usual overdecorating. it was located right above the commons area and we even had a minimal beach view where we caught an amazing sunset. HOWEVER, we were not allowed to use any of the extra Sundial resort amenities including weight room, main pool and beach loungers. We even tried to pay for the coveted wristband, which we were told was available by Remax. This was unexpected and certainly a disappointment. However, after the initial disappointment we discovered a lovely second pool and the vacation was saved!

A nice place. Needs some updating but overall nice. Good access to beach and pool areas. Stocking with some basic condiments and bath lotions, shampoos, etc. would be a nice touch. Had great response to an inoperable TV. Replaced in hours.

Great family vacation as always. Love Sanibel and Sundial
Not our first time at Sundial but our first in I201. This condo needs help to make a guest feel welcome. Fix the crazy wall unit door! Give your guests salt and pepper at least! A blanket would be great. How about some comfortable lanai chairs? Maybe a drying rack would be nice. Clean the living room couch or the carpet in the bedroom. On one positive note, the bed is very comfortable but you need new pillows. We won’t be back in this condo.
Location was great. The unit was not so great. The water pressure in the shower was almost non existent. I had to use a cup from the kitchen to rinse out my hair. The unit smelled very musty and stale, like it had not been occupied in a while. It was also disappointing to learn that none of the Sundial amenities were included when renting through Re/Max. (Beach chairs, bicycles, tennis, etc.)
Great weather. Very relaxing stay.
Great location, Remax staff was very accommodating and came over quickly when we needed more pillows and locked ourselves out of the condo. The sundial has a great marketplace for basics including groceries, band aids, coffee, and delicious breakfast sandwiches well as 2 restaurants so we loved having everything right there at the resort. The only downside was that we didn't have access to gym or bikes at the resort. However Remax gave us info on where to rent bikes.
We love Sundial condos but this particular one needs some updating. It is cute and comfortable but things were a little worn.
Overall, the location on the Beach and resort are terrific. As far as the Unit I201, it needs a update and could have been delivered in a much better clean condition for the rate paid overnight.
As far as the rental experience, that went smoothly. Unit 201I really needs new carpet and the sliding door is very hard to open. T 401 or T201 had a tear on the attached arm pillow as it attached to the sofa and the lamp wasn't functioning. Other than that we had a good time. THe beach and pool were wonderful and the barbecue pits are first class.
All and all not a bad stay. Some of the properties have been updated, this one had not. That said, it was still a nice place, especially for the price. While it was not beach front, there was a small beach "view". The tiny ants in the kitchen were the worst problem. We called after the first night and the real estate company had an exterminator there the next day. The ants survived, just not quite as many. We kept all the food in the refrigerator to be safe. We also mentioned that the bathroom sink did not drain and they had it cleared out the same day as well. Great response by ReMax, not a top rate for the property.
Good weather, good view, nice location
The condo was very run down, the furniture and decor needed an overall update. The walls and woodwork desperately needed paint. The condo smelled as soon as we walked in, moldy and musty. I was very disappointed. The location to the beach was wonderful but the accommodations were not.
2nd time at Sundial. Love the location and amenities offered. Lots of renovations happening this time. Will be nicer when finished . the individual unit this time was in a great spot and was very comfortable size wise. The units defiantly can use some updates . The units owned by the actual resort are much more up to date than the one we rented this time. Would still go back again though
Love Sanibel Island. Paradise at its best!!!
Overall we were pleased with our rental. It was clean and comfortable and close to the beach. We had difficulties finding our unit since this is a very large complex of condos because we did not get directions. The pools are small for the size of this complex and overcrowded. We spent most of our time on the beach which was very nice and relaxing.
As soon as you start the scenic drive over the Sanibel Causeway to Sanibel Island, you know you're in a one of a kind spot. To your left you'll see the historic Lighthouse and to the right a uniquely preserved natural area. The J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge offers guided tours, wildlife viewing, educational trams rides and more! And of course there are great beaches, like Bowman's Beach, Tarpon Bay Beach, Blind Pass Beach, and more. The island is known for its amazing seashells that can be found all over. There is even a museum dedicated to seashells - The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum, one of the top attractions here. Visitors looking to get truly up close and personal with the sea can dive down to the USS Mohawk CGC Veterans Memorial Reef and see a real sunken ship. Special experiences such as this are why Sanibel is like no place else on earth!
