  • Welcome to He'epali Hale! This newly renovated, contemporary modern home mixed with Hawaiian Style is the best place to relax and unwind after a long day exploring the Big Island. Heepali Hale has all that you need for that perfect vacation in paradise for up to six people. Located on a peaceful street near Pahoa, this very private, beautifully furnished 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath home is wonderfully convenient to swimming, snorkeling, dining and shopping, and all the sightseeing you can squeeze in! The master suite with a king bed, the 2nd bedroom is a queen and the 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds. The sizable modern kitchen, with its beautiful custom counter tops and backsplash works extremely well with plenty of room to prepare and cook wonderful island meals and theres dining for 6 inside. There is even a gas BBQ grill for your outdoor cooking. The grounds are beautiful and neatly kept. There are some fruit trees on the property you can pick, eat and enjoy whatever is in season! Only about 20 minutes SW of Hilo, you are convenient to all of the sights and sounds that the east side of the Big Island has to offer.   • Centrally located near the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in Mauna Loa Estates subdivision, and only about 30 minutes to Hilo, you are convenient to all of the sights and sounds that the east side of the Big Island has to offer. From here, swimming and snorkeling in Punaluu Black Sands Beach or in Hilo is a 30-minute drive in either direction, and the Volcanoes National Park is practically in your backyard. Hale Ohia Lehua sits perfectly on its private, quiet landscaped 1/2 acre with citrus and other fruit trees in the backyard, and the native Hapuu ferns surround the edge of the property. Enjoy BBQing outside and the crisp mountain air at 3500 elevation. The large lanai is the perfect place to relax with a cup of coffee or tea in the morning, or a great book in the afternoon. Cozy up to the gas fireplace in the living room on those chilly Volcano evenings! You may think that packing your favorite swimsuit and slippers (flip flops) is enough, but not true if you plan on doing any hiking or sightseeing around the island. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park can get quite chilly with temperatures dropping down to the low 40s at night, sometimes lower, so do bring your favorite warm pajamas and at least a light jacket. It actually snows often on Mauna Kea, but they close those roads whenever there are blizzard conditions present. If you plan on doing a lava hike, you should consider bringing your hiking boots, as youll want good ankle support for this 1/2-day or more experience.     Our insurance found us this home after we lost our home to lava in May. We stayed four months. It was comfortable and provided us a refuge while we regrouped. We are thankful we had such a nice place for the four months.

Take a sharp left off Hwy 130 to Kalapana and Hwy 137 (aka The Red Road), then a sharp right to the ocean (½ a mile). Then left again onto Hwy 137 towards Kapoho. Follow the road 3 miles to Kamakoa. Youll pass Oleole, and the very next street is Kamakoa. Turn RIGHT on Kamakoa and a FIRST RIGHT into the driveway. Your home is on the corner of the Red Road - Hwy 137 and Kamakoa. Youre HERE! (12-417 Kamakoa) There is a key lock box on the outside wall of the utility closet downstairs (which is on the left).

    We liked location, close to many places, nice clean and cosy. Everything was provided including kitchen stuff,creams,lotions towels etc. We really enjoyed the house and the garden:-)

    This property was really nice. The location was perfect for getting around Hilo and Puna. Nice and quiet except for the coqui frogs. The place was super clean! Three geckos were my roommates. Super lucky and zero bugs! Air conditioning in the one room worked awesome considering it was super hot while I was staying there. Don't pass this place up!

    This cottage has a large comfortable king bed and a huge beautifully tiled bathroom.
    There is a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and Keurig coffee maker. There is also a counter top oven that could be used but requires it to be placed on the small table. This rental is for short stays for couples wanting to dine out. There is very limited grocery shopping close by so if you plan to use the microwave bring the food with you.
    It was quite rainy during our stay so the place felt a bit damp. There is a heater to help reduce the dampness.
    It is very close to the Volcano National Park.

    we stayed here while we doing some consulting work on the Island. House was recently re-done, Clean & Neat.
    we would have enjoyed some outdoor table and chairs to relax on. Not having much for outdoor seating was the only downside to staying. other than that We all agree we would stay again.
