We knew what we were getting into with such a small space for our family of four. It is tight quarters for sure, but worth the tradeoff of being so close to everything. We suffered from some altitude sickness and management was very responsive to our requests for cleaning supplies and more towels.
One issue with this unit in particular - the pull-out bed is broken. It was fine for our children, but adults should not sleep on it. I'd make sure it has been repaired or replaced if you will need to use it during your stay.
Corey D.on 01/22/2018
So, upon arriving we were initially very excited about the rental because it was spacious and appeared to be well kept. Our impression changed as we readied for bed that evening. The sheets were full of static (lightning show) which made the sheets cling to us. The pillows were not comfortable as they felt like a 30 year old down pillow and offered no support. The kicker for us was the extreme uncomfortable nature of the mattress! I mean come on folks, people are skiing and snowboarding all day and the only thing they want at the end of a long day is a comfortable bed!! I get wanting your rental to be profitable but at least outfit it with an nice mattress... the other negatives of the unit were the lack of egress, you had only one place to exit the building. Also, the bathroom could use some upgrading. All in all we enjoyed our stay, however next time we may just look for a place that provides a little more comfort and concierge focus.
James J.on 12/18/2017
Great vacation the week before Christmas at a great rate. Right at the bottom of Keystone in the village. We loved it.
The room was in excellent condition and we had a great time. Great communication from the rental company with a wealth of information to help you with your stay.
We'll be back some day!
LeeAnn M.on 11/22/2017
We stayed at this property over Thanksgiving. Although we didn't ski, it was so fun being in the middle of the village and watching the skiers come and go and then being able to see the mountain. The proximity of Starbucks was a definite plus (yes, I have a problem). The bed was comfortable, the fireplace was amazing. The balcony was adorable. My only complaint was the lack of utensils, pans, etc., in the kitchen, but that's only because I was contributing to Thanksgiving dinner! We would definitely stay here again!
Lauren P.on 10/13/2017
It was great, other than the lack of closet space it was a perfect little getaway.

Great location and great condo. We hope to stay there again.
Scott L.on 07/27/2017
The condo was well appointed and clean of course. But the narrow street on that side was across from two bars and the noise early in the morning until late at night was terrible. Especially since we had to keep windows open in the summer to cool off the place. You might want to consider turning off the fireplace pilot light which generates considerable heat.
david v.on 03/23/2017
We enjoyed our stay. Rental company has great service.
Charles B.on 03/09/2017
Condo was clean and nice beds.
Todd F.on 03/04/2017
Nicely located with access to the village. Place was nice, and we had no issues. size of a small apartment but your there to ski right..Not the most comfortable couch though again, your there to ski. We would lease again and SCM really has the process of getting in and out down pat.
david v.on 02/24/2017
This is a great condo in a great location, but the interior is no frills. The bed was comfy, but the rest of the interior is in need of updating. Nothing was bad, it was just tired. The price we paid was appropriate considering the overall need of updating.
Julie N.on 01/19/2017
Condo was comfortable and well equipped. Great view and close to shops and restaurants.
Chad R.on 01/01/2017
Easy to book and I had very few questions as you sent all the info I needed repeatedly. Well done! Unit was clean and ready as promised. Ability to vacate room, yet leave car in garage upon checkout so there's time for breakfast is much appreciated. Will highly recommend to all I know!
Troy L.on 12/26/2016
Condo was right in the middle of everything!!!! Smaller in size but worked for a family of 4! A little on the warm side if you use fireplace. We had windows open to sleep:)! Was FUN to sit on couch and watch night skiing. Easy walk under the garage to get to a beautiful view of the slopes while you swim or sit in hot tub! Easy walk down stairs to slopes!!!!! A little dirty as far as carpets go and carpet nails hurt! Otherwise worked great!
Daniel S.on 11/08/2016
Nice, clean place. Right in the heart of everything. Definitely recommend
Jacob L.on 09/28/2016
The rental experience with the Summit County Mountain Retreats crew was 100% smooth! There were absolutely no issues during our stay. I called an requested an early check-in and they accommodated that with no problems, which was HUGE for me, as I was very exhausted from traveling! The condo itself was simple and beautiful and exactly what I was searching for! Bonus, I saw a bear during my stay! WHOA! Overall, it was just very easy and smooth! Will definitely be using them again in my future travels to Colorado!
Nikki S.on 08/18/2016
Perfect location perfect accommodations for our needs great all-around experience
david v.on 08/11/2016
The property was a bit worn, but that is what was expected for the price.
david v.on 08/05/2016
This property was just what we expected. Excellent value. No frills. Being right in the middle of River Run makes this condo extremely convenient.
Tracy B.on 07/25/2016
Frying pan was perfect. Often this item is not usable in other units . Carpet could use cleaning.
Timothy H.on 06/09/2016
My wife and I enjoyed our 3 day stay in the Buffalo Lodge. The directions were well written out and location was wonderful. I would definetly stay in the Buffalo Lodge again.
Mary U.on 06/01/2016
Great This place was wonderful. They had everything in the unit you could ever what. Great staff and great location.
Margaret K.on 05/26/2016
Communication from the first contact was excellent. The Condo was perfect, comfortable lounge, bed, fully equipped kitchen...gorgeous little balcony off the lounge room to enjoy watching the world go by while enjoying some wine and cheese. We loved it as we were visiting from Australia touring through the US and we needed some down time in some place that was different from home. The mountain views while partial were still spectacular for people from Sydney. We loved watching the fog, rain, snow, sun..4 seasons in one day rolling down from the mountain top.
Joe S.on 03/17/2016
This unit is right in the heart of Keystone. The pictures are accurate, the reservation and check-in processes are simple, and the unit is exactly as described. We really enjoyed our short time there.
Jeff G.on 01/31/2016
Charles F.on 01/23/2016
Well located unit. There are stairs directly across the hall that take you down 1 floor and come out in the courtyard of the Buffalo Lodge. The Mattress does have about a 2 inch thick foam pad on it, it slept ok but could use replacing. As for previous complaints about the carpet we only found it a stained just inside the door, probably from people coming in with ski boots or dirty shoes, it was not dirty just stained no big deal to us. We will comment on the refrigerator, it was cold, Froze our milk and grapes on the medium setting, but was great for beer lol. Overall we were very pleased with the unit and location We would definitely stay here again.
JACOB R.on 01/19/2016
unit was as described, the dishes and cooking utensil could of been cleaned better, otherwise very satisfied.
Yuhang S.on 12/20/2015
Good location. Clean room. We did not have problem with anything. The TV is little small, so is the bed sheet in the bedroom.
Rick S.on 12/18/2015
We had a great time. The proximity to the mountain was amazing as we had two children under four and had no trouble getting all of our gear from the condo to the lifts.
Daniel L.on 12/07/2015
Great location though might be a bit noisy late at peak times as it is directly over the main restaurant row in River Run. It was the cleanest rental I have ever stayed in, but seriously... that bed is junk. Horrible for one person, unimaginable for two. New bed and I would highly recommend.
Daniel W.on 11/27/2015
The unit has a great location, was clean and well stocked...The owners need to up date the TV in the living room it was the same size as my CPU screen. and made viewing almost impossible...The mattress also need up-graded the 3' topper did nothing to improve the bed...if those two things were taken care of then the unit would be great...and I would definitely would rent this unit again.
davide f.on 10/18/2015
I spent a total of 7 nights during the months of september and october 2015 at the Buffalo Lodge. The place is nice, well equipped and the service offered by Summit County Mountain Retreats very good. During my second stay I had a small problem and I really appreciated the kindness and professionalism shown to solve it. For stay from 3 night on this option is even cheaper than a motel accomodation. Will I stay there again? YES
Donna W.on 09/17/2015
Lynsey K.on 08/10/2015
We had a wonderful stay. I was nervous after reading a review about awful beds. However, they had improved the queen bed with a foam topper and it was wonderful. The hide-a-bed was still only fit for kids, but since that's who used it, it was perfect.
Upon entering the condo the first thing I noticed was the dirty carpet. It is due for a major cleaning. However overlooking that, the rest of the condo was perfect and the decor made it feel homey.
The location was great with parking right below the building. It is right next to the miniature golf/ice rink, and the center of the village.
For future guests I would like to mention that there is a stair case right outside the condo door that leads right down to the village. We discovered that our last day and would have saved us some time instead of going down the hall to the elevator when we just wanted to go to the village.
We also used the pool at Dakota and it was a perfect temperature, very clean, and had pool towels to use.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.
Michael Y.on 07/25/2015
All was great. This area is the place to be when staying Keystone.
Adam R.on 12/21/2014

Keith P.on 12/01/2014
Condo was fine. Good shape condo in good location. No problems with stay
Stewart P.on 11/20/2014
My son and I stayed at this 1 bdrm condo for early season ski trip. The location is good--about a 10 min walk to the River Run gondola and restaurants even closer. The single bdrm was good and the bed was comfortable, as was the fold out sofa bed. Sometimes these are pretty flimsy and you can feel like you're sleeping on a metal frame, but not with this one. My son was quite comfortable on it. The only negative is where the room is situated in the complex is right on the river run pedestrian thoroughfare and if you like to sleep with the window cracked, be prepared for some noise from the late night crowd and snow removal equipment in the morning. That being said, we would definitely return. The condo was clean, affordable, and in a great location.
Kelsey D.on 09/26/2014
I was very impressed with our accommodations. The condo was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The view from the patio was amazing; mountain views from both sides. I would highly recommend this property to a friend or relative. Would love to come back during the season to enjoy all of the skiing, shops, food and amenities!
Michael L.on 09/05/2014
We would never stay in unit #8329 again. All furnishings except the tv's were outdated and worn out. The queen size bed was so uncomfortable that we could not sleep on it. First when the bedspread a cover was opened to reveal the sheets, it looked like the sheets had not been changed since the previous guest. The mattress was worn out, had places where you could feel the springs, and generally miserably uncomfortable. I slept on the couch pull out bed. It was head was higher than my feet and I could feel the crossbar under my back so I slept on the couch with the bed not pullout. Oh, and there was no sheet on the pullout. The cold water faucet in the bathroom did not turn off correctly. If you pushed it to far off, the water came back on. There were stains in the grout of the shower/tub. Not sure, but possibly mold. The microwave looked like it was from the 70's and did not have a rotating tray. The room was not cleaned between nights and the towels used were not replaced. Even with the windows closed the noise from the 9280 Bar across the way even ear plugs made it difficult to sleep. Maybe this is better in the winter though. There was no way onsite for me to leave a key for my wife who was arriving at a later time than me. David, the Assistant Manager, was very obliging and gave me his cell number to give to my wife so she could call him to get the key to her. As it happened she did not have to call. I would not recommend this unit #8329 to anyone until it is upgraded, especially the bed and couch/hide-a-bed.
Wendy S.on 07/21/2014
Our experience was very good. Getting to the office and the lockbox with keys came with good directions and was very easy. Having a garage was a plus as well as lots of luggage carts and even grocery carts. Unit was very nice and overlooked some of the River Run walkways. Restaurants were very close. Enjoyed having use of the gas grill, hot tubs, and pool. My boys liked the pool table, free Summit Daily papers, and bike storage. Unit was clean and had lots of cooking utensils, pots and pans and extras. Bed was comfortable and in the winter I am sure the fireplace would be very nice. Enjoyed the little balcony.
We would return here if the the opportunity came again. When we misplaced a key they gave us another one right away and without a hassel.
David J.on 07/17/2014
This was better than I could ever imagined. The Buffalo Lodge was primo. The atmosphere was exceptional. I can't say enough good things. Would go back in a second.
Terry A.on 07/06/2014
Checking was easy, directions easy to follow. Room was nice but mattress and pillows need replacing. Bed too soft and pillows not comfortable. Everything in room was in good repairs except living room iPad port. Kitchen well equipped. Hot tub was great. All in all, a nice stay.
Alisha L.on 06/28/2014
Very nice room directly in town :)
Wesley R.on 06/13/2014
No wine bottle opener, cheap appliances, cheap bed sheets, cheap everything, patio furniture was uncomfortable. The place is over due for a interior face lift. great location.
Duc N.on 04/10/2014
Great location, covered parking, close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay. The bed was a bit stiff, but not enough to not be 5 stars.
Will definitely rent again!
John M.on 04/05/2014
From start to finish, this was the best place to stay for my 30th! Great location, super comfy, and steps to the Gondola. I'd stay here again in a hear beat!
Richard G.on 03/26/2014
My 11 year old daughter and myself had a dream vacation at Buffalo Lodge in Keystone, CO. We had great conditions and a great place at a great price. We walked to the gondola every morning to get 1st tracks, took lunch back at our room and a dip in the hottub and then back up for more riding. Trip of a life!!
Keith D.on 02/21/2014
This was the perfect size for me and my daughter. A family of 4 is about all that can fit in here but the place was clean and a great deal for the location. Would stay again.
Jennifer W.on 02/17/2014
Loved the location of this condo and enjoyed the amenities of Buffalo Lodge. The crock pot in the unit came in very handy and we loved the fireplace. The only downfall to this unit was a very hard mattress and uncomfortable pillows. We actually slept on the pull out bed in the living room the last night and it was more comfortable than the queen bed. Other than this we enjoyed the unit.
Sandra M.on 02/13/2014
Great location, we love the fact they have the lockers for the skies. Shops, dining, everything you need close to you, no need to drive, great. We highly recommended, we're so glad with the experience, that we are thinking to rent it again:)
Angela C.on 01/16/2014
Everything went off without a hitch, from picking up the keys to check out. Plenty of space, nice recreation room and hot tub area. Will stay here again in the future.
Candace M.on 01/06/2014
Overall is could've been better. About 1200 Missouri students happened to flood the place while we were there, so the partying kept us up half the night. Also the oxygen cans they "provide" have nothing on them saying they're $19.95 a piece. So when my mom who's from sea level needs to use them, it would be nice to know what they cost, instead of just being charged after the stay, so beware of that. Location was great, beds sucked, but it was a cozy spot with plenty of places to walk to.
Susan G.on 01/03/2014
Room was relatively comfortable and quiet. It worked well for our family (4 and 7 yr old). Need to Institute and enforce some sort of no smoking policy.
Christopher S.on 12/26/2013
Great Christmas experience
ipod Radio, alarm clock, tv remotes did not work.
Victoria C.on 12/13/2013
Convenient and classy. Highly recommended. Cant wait to come back. Thanks for everything!!
The location was perfect and the balcony was great for people watching BUT the bed and the pillows were so stiff and hard that it was impossible to relax after a long day on the slopes. We were there for 2 days and we actually dreaded the second night because we knew we were not going to be able to sleep well. Please change out the bed and pillows.
Also, the refrigerator was dented and kicked in , the stove did not cook evenly because the heating plates were skewed, and the carpet was worn and faded. Some upgrades are needed.
I loved the place. I do wish in the many emails I got that the check in be more clear. I.e. THIS IS THE ADDRESS YOU NEED TO GO TO CHECK IN. Maybe bolder in the top part of email do a person does not have to did for instructions. Make it easier for people this was our big complaint. Customer friendly with less questions. Saw a lot of wandering ppl doing the same thing
Very nice unit. Really like the pool and Jacuzzis. Overlooking River Run can be really noisy at night with the bar crowd.
The condo was fine - the management company left a lot to be desired.
Very nice condo located perfectly for access to gondola/lift, and restaurants. It really makes life easy for the beginning and end of a ski day. Plan on a bit of foot traffic and resturant chatter outside window, but it was over pretty early each night.
Great pools, nice location. We loved that it was right in town.
2 negatives, the carpet is very dirty and the master bedding it uncomfortable.
With those 2 negatives, I'd rent this place again. Location, price, and pools totally outweighed the carpet and bedding. Thanks for a fun night stay!
The room was nice but it faced the village and the partying went in all night. Couldn't close the windows because it was too hot. Wouldn't stay again.
While Keystone was closed for the season, we enjoyed the proximity to A-Basin and Loveland for skiing, and Dillon for dining. The condo was perfect for two people. We didn't spend much time in the condo but it was cozy and very clean. This would be an ideal place to stay when Keystone is open.
Unit was run down and carpet was dirty to the point we didn't feel comfortable in the apartment
Far from elevator
Easy look Gand check in process. I think 4pm is a little late to allow check in when wehD to check out at 10am especially when most hotels have 3pm check in and often allow early check in for no charge. Unit was very clean except for the carpet near the front door and kitchen where it was a little torn up. All appliances a ere in very good condition. Good size bathroom. Bedroom was very small which Nader aloft me tight with our luggage in there. Bed was comfortable. Many noisy plows drove by every morning around 7-8am which was annoying because the condo wouldn't cool down so we had to sleep with the window slightly open, so the noise was a it of a bother but not too bad. Location & hot tubs were great.
Very short but enjoyable. Cleaning fee a bit high for an overnight stay for one person.
The place had a great location & unbeatable price, as well as friendly on-site staff. We found the spa/hot tub amenities nice but inconvenient to get to as they were located in the next lodge over. The furniture was extremely uncomfortable making it difficult to sleep/rest. There was various (minor)damage throughout as well as missed cleaning spots like grungy carpet and food splatters. All remarks were shared with management who replied quickly with apologies and assurance the issues would be addressed post-stay.Overall, a good place to stay if on a budget and planning to be on the mountain most of the time. I wouldn't recommend if looking for a comfortable/relaxing stay.
Perfect...clean and organized and all amenities were functioning. We enjoyed the off season for full relaxation.
Everything was great.
Only two issues...the bed was not that comfy and my key wouldn't work to get me into the lodge but would let me into my apartment. Otherwise the place was perfect!
Very satisfied, definitely will go back. ;-)
Great location, Keystone is centrally located for easy access to Dillon, Frisco, and Breckenridge. Walk to restaurants, shops, coffee, etc. right downstairs. Very family friendly!
Bed is uncomfortable, pillows and linens could be upgraded. Location can be loud because of its proximity to shops downstairs. Wouldn't be as much of a problem in the winter since the windows would be closed. Property was extremely clean and well maintained, staff professional.
This condo is likely perfect for a winter escape...very close to the Keystone lifts. In the summer it is also great, but just know it sits directly across from a loud bar and is right on the summer festival thoroughfare. Given the summer heat and no air conditioning, you pretty much have to sleep with your windows open to stay comfortable. This was fine since I was traveling along, but would have been a disaster if traveling with our children on anyone who sleeps lightly or before 2am. Otherwise, great simple rental in a nice building.
Keystone and Dillon are the two major towns in this location, and both offer a ton of amazing things to do no matter what the season! There's obviously some great skiing in the area, and hitting up the Keystone Ski Resort, Columbine Ski & Sport, Dercum's Dash on the Mountain, the Loveland Ski Area, or the Arapahoe Basin Ski Area will get you out skiing or snowboarding on some beautiful slopes. The area also features amazing hiking and biking trails, horseback riding, kayaking and canoeing, and more. Some great outdoor spots you should be sure to hit are Dillon Reservoir, Marina Park, Loveland Pass, Guanella Pass, and the Snake River. Dillon also has a nice little Farmer's Market, and the area has great indoor activities too, including the Lake Dillon Theatre Company, the Dillon Amphitheater, the Snake River Saloon, and Pug Ryan's Steakhouse and Brewery. For the history-minded, the Dillon Schoolhouse Museum might be more your style. The area also features horseback riding tours, spas, great bars and restaurants, bowling, golf courses, and the beautiful Keystone Lake.
