Our 7 day stay was wonderful. Most beautiful weather. Great Shrimpfest. We stay at Seawind every year.Love the location. First time we have stayed in a pie shape unit. Loved the layout. 1404 was great in comparison with other units it could use a few things. Not enough furniture on balcony. we actually bought a few chairs to use.Could use more utensils in the kitchen and few more towels and bath cloths. But I'm not complaining. It was wonderful. Thanks to the owners for sharing.

The location of Seawind condominiums is perfect. We were easily able to walk to local Gulf Shores attractions which is nice considering the high traffic volume in Gulf Shores; a lot of times it's quicker to walk than drive! The beach access was closer than any I've experienced before. The common areas of the property were very well maintained. The unit we rented was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath + study and it slept 8 comfortably. The unit was very clean and well maintained other than wear and tear as you'd expect in a rental unit. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware. I wish that the property had additional elevators. Two elevators could not efficiently accommodate the number of people on the premises the last weekend of summer. Numerous times the elevators would open and be full to capacity and we'd have to wait for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th elevator. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and were quite satisfied with the accommodations.

Upon arrival, the other vehicles in the party arrived first and received the 2 parking passes (in my name). They were not allowed to sign the documents though. Upon my arrival, I was told I did not have a parking pass and I would have to park my car 5 miles down the road at Walmart for the whole week because I did not have a parking pass available to me. I found it very odd that the other members of the party received the parking passes (which had my name on it) but were not allowed to sign the documentation.
The view was breathtaking. The wait for the elevator was terrible. The refrigerator went out on two different occasions and we lost a lot of food due to this. On the first occasion, they wanted us to move our food to the 9th floor although we were staying on the 14th floor. You had to wait 2-5 minutes on the elevator so really that was not an option. Other than that, everything was good. And the pool is extremely small with few chairs. And when I say small, I mean the outside pool was 18' x 16'. Small for a condo unit this size.
Great stay. Condo and location could not be beat. Only detraction was the college spring breakers. Noise and antics from some of the young folks, most were considerate and polite.
We really enjoyed out first family vacation here. The view was amazing, and there was plenty of room for myself, my husband, and our 4 children. The rental property was very clean and had all the comforts of home. Our only complaint was the elevator wait...two elevators for such a large complex was a hassle.
Vacation=awesome. Condo=mediocre. The elevators are a serious problem. They are awful. The pools are too small for the amount of people. The boardwalk was closed for 2 days for refurbishing! Really, in June during peak season? This couldn't have been done in fall, winter or spring. In the unit the couch was grungy, the master bed lumpy, the carpet was bad in places, the ice maker leaked and the smoke detector was hanging out of the ceiling. The balcony and furniture were awesome!
This is our second time staying at the Seawind. I would highly recommend staying in 1404! The balcony is twice as big as other units and the guest room and master both have doors to the balcony. (Other unit I stayed in had the guest room on opposite side of unit with no view of the ocean.) The patio furniture was very comfortable. The comfy furniture made for nice mornings and evenings on the balcony. We loved that this unit had a detachable shower head in the master bath; it made giving a toddler a shower sooooo much easier. The kitchen was stocked well with utensils etc. Negatives: The couches in the living room seemed a bit dirty and the grout and tile in the bathrooms seemed dirty.
The only suggestion - the bath towels were very cheap. If we rent this again I would bring my own towels rather than use these provided.
I've stayed at Seawind Condos for the past few years. The condo itself is very nice, updated, great balcony views. However, for two years in a row now, the elevators have not been working throughout my stay. Last year I was 6 months pregnant and had to climb up 9 flights of stairs more than once. My legs & ankles were swollen A LOT. This year, I had my 8 month old son with us. We had to climb up and down 14 flights of stairs throughout the stay. This is ridiculous. This condo is not cheap. For the prices, they should have a WORKING elevator. And, when the elevators do work, they are VERY VERY SLOW and always full so we always have to wait for the second elevator and hope that there is room. THIS CONDO NEEDS TO ADD MORE ELEVATORS. Also, at some point during our stay, we could not park in the condo parking garage because it was full. This condo charges $20/car for parking. SO I'M NOT SURE WHY I COULDN'T PARK MY CAR THERE. NEVER STAYING HERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!
Staying at Seawind was a very good condo experience. It was just as I expected. Everything was great (rooms, view, amenities).
We had 2 adults and 4 kids (10,8,2,1). It was great for everyone.
Only downside was the elevator system. There's only 2 and on Saturday morning, you couldn't find an empty one around check out time. We were trying to go to the beach, and it was hard to get 6 people down there.
