The cabin was nice. It is in need of some repairs. The dishwasher had water in the bottom. So we had to was everything by hand. The grill was burn up very badly inside. The floor and steps is in need of repair as well. It has a very loud cracking sounds.
Precious R.on 07/06/2017
This cabin has a very warm and rich look and feel to it from the time you pull up to it and once you open the front door you realize that the photos downplay what it really looks like in person.. Myself and my family had a wonderful time visiting with the resort and we shall return one day in the future. Lots of wonderful memories were made to not be forgotten. I absolutely loved it!!!!
Felicia H.on 04/07/2017
My family love staying at this resort. We can't wait until next year to book again.
Alisha B.on 03/17/2017
I loved the service! ! The only thing that was bad was there was no heat on the base floor! It got down to 39degrees downstairs which is where 3 out of the 5 rooms were. The kids were FREEZING down there!! Please put HEAT on the bottom FLOOR for future guests!! Other than that, great vacation! We'll be back soon!
John R.on 02/17/2017
We took our youth group for a Winter Retreat! Perfect place for all our needs!
Wendy C.on 10/05/2016
great cabin setup with a wonderful location... cleaning was less than impressive :( there were dirty linens & overall cleaning was poor, floors appeared dirty and theater room chairs & floors needed a major cleaning. Dropped my phone under the chair i was sitting when i life the foot rest to retrieve it there was food and other object under it.

Me and my family was greatly overwhelm with the way the place was spacious and cozy for us to all come together.
Bob B.on 07/14/2016
Fifth time we have stayed at Elk Springs and second time at Lumberjack. Loved it so much that my family has reserved it for next year! Excellent layout and floor plan for the entire family.
Tyrone D.on 07/08/2016
Cabin was awesome it was everything we expected and more!! The wrap around balcony was private and awesome way to breath in the fresh Mountain Air. Elk Spring Resort is always my choice of stay when I come to Gaitlinburg. Customer service was awesome. We were missing a remote for one of the Tv's and they replaced it right away!!! My only concern with my stay this time was the gravel road coming up the hill were the cabin was located. Overall this was an awesome trip, this was my second time staying here and it is well worth it.
Kimberly P.on 02/11/2016
The stay at lumbarjack lodge was very relaxing. My family loved the game room and the theater room. Overall the site was clean, with very few areas of tidiness needed.
Shaun S.on 01/08/2016
It was a very wonderful experience. The cabin was very clean and had everything I needed for my stay.
Jessica B.on 12/27/2015
Elks Spring Resort was a great experience for my family. The home was in excellent condition.
James A.on 12/19/2015
Overall, very pleased. Very spacious, very comfortable feel. The children really enjoyed the pool table, air hockey game, and the indoor theater! We will likely be back for our Christmas Vacation in 2016. Loved it!! VERY PLEASED.
Temisha B.on 11/06/2015
I had a wonderful experience from the time of booking to check out. Booking was easy and convenient. I received all the information needed via email complete with directions and things to do in the area. On the day of check in I was contacted early to inform me the cabin was ready. Once there, received a call to ensure all was going well and again after check out. The staff was very friendly and professional. The cabin itself looks just like the online pictures, very cozy and spacious for a large group. Will definitely book again

The Lumber Jack Cabin was clean and in great shape.
Sheryle G.on 10/09/2015
I reserved this cabin for a family reunion and was very nervous since I had never been to Gatlinburg before. My worries were unfounded. The cabin was wonderful--big, clean and well-furnished. Everyone loved it! When we arrived, however, there were very few towels in the bathrooms. One quick phone call and we had all the towels we needed. My group loved the theater room for the evenings and the decks especially in the mornings. During the booking process, the staff were helpful and professional. Everything was great!
Gladys W.on 07/22/2015
It was one of the best! Design to make a great home away from home with accessibility to everything needed!
William M.on 06/08/2015
The building was properly represented but no mt.view and on a gravel road. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the furniture was very unique. Everyone enjoyed the theater room and the game room, however the game room needed maintenance on the pool cues, and ball pockets. The property should have been cleaner especially because we had a crawling baby and the wood floors were very dirty. The house was also very noisy because of all the wood floors, squeaky doors and stairs. We did call for maintenance on a missing electrical plate in living room and couldn't lock the front door. We had ten guests staying for 6 days. Why skimp on trash bags(3), toilet paper(1) etc. This did not reflect the cost we were paying per night, after all, we were not camping! We would recommend this lodge to a friend if they understood the short comings. Because there is no pool on the site, we would highly recommend the Gatlinburg community center where there was a large indoor pool, basketball courts, bowling alleys and racquetball courts. The aquarium was fun for all! Loved Flapjacks for breakfast.
Teresa D.on 05/25/2015
I took our youth group for a retreat. We stayed in the Lumberjack cabin. The kids had a fabulous time. Close to Gatlinburg and all the attractions. The cabin was perfect! Everything was ready for our arrival! Will definitely do this again!
Lester W.on 02/27/2015
Our group had extreme difficulty getting in and out of Lumberjack Lodge due to extreme muddy conditions. We had planned to use Lumberjack Lodge as a base of operations for our group (we had three cabins booked), but this was completely interrupted because most of our group could not get in and out. Increased accessibility to this cabin should definitely be an immediate concern. Also, the bathtub from the main floor leaks into one of the cabins in the basement.
Gwen S.on 01/22/2015
The cabin was in a great location and very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would highly recommend this resort. We will be back!
Lawanda M.on 12/23/2014
Overall we had a wonderful stay in the LumberJack Cabin. It is a beautiful cabin and wad very clean when we arrived. However, there was a leak in the shower if the bathroom in the top level that dripped through the kitchen ceiling; which we found out on the first night. I called for maintenance immediately and wad told someone was on their way; but never showed up. The next morning I called back & spoke to a manger who apologized & said my complaint that maintenance never showed was the second one she had gotten that morning & she was sending someone. Maintenance came & informed me that this was a pre-existing issue with the LumberJack Cabin & to just be careful when in that shower not to splash. That information should have been given to me prior to arriving or included in the welcome binder for the cabin. Other than this, my family and I had a wonderful time and would stay again (especially now that we are familiar with how to find the resort - it's not the easiest place to find - at least not initially; however, it was very close to everything we needed and more (.
Christine C.on 11/09/2014
All was good. The only thing that could have been better is the front door and kitchen window
did not have a curtain to cover them. Had to cover door with a blanket.

REALLY HAVE A GOOD TIME THERE
Ashley S.on 10/18/2014
Maybe my expectations are high, but this place was just not for us. Started off by the management company charging our credit card twice for $1200. Nice chunk taken out of our account. It took a week for it to be refunded. Next they did not send an email with check in/out instructions 2 days before like they stated. The house itself is large. Nice kitchen and appliances. I don't know if this is typical of the area but the house just smells musty. The bedding looks like something from the 80s and I'm not sure it's been freshly laundered since. It's quite a drive from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. If you like seclusion and don't plan to leave much then maybe this place is for you. It just wasn't for us. We stayed one night, packed up and went to the new Margaritaville Island Hotel that just opened last week.

I have stayed with elk springs resort for the last 3 years . Everything was very clean and well maintained . I will be staying with elk springs again in the future .
It is a great place to stay . Thank you for having us .
Candace W.on 09/19/2014
I loved the property itself. We just wished our side of the resort was paved as the others were. My car is low to the ground and is now making odd noises due to the gravel, rock pot holes, and hills at our location. We also found a roach in one of the downstairs restrooms. Other than that everything was fine. I look forward to coming again, but not at this particular cabin.
See T.on 08/29/2014
Over all, everything was great except for the part where my mom got a broken knee cap from hiking and we ended up spending half the day in theER. I would definately come back again when things are better.
Bob B.on 07/24/2014
For three years now our family have enjoyed the cabins at Elks Springs Resort ..AND we just made reservations for year # 4! We love it.
Sean N.on 07/03/2014
Twelve family members plus myself had a very satisfying three night stay at the Lumberjack Lodge. It was the first time in the Gatlinburg area for most of us. We visited downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge during the day and spent most nights at the cabin. We certainly took advantage of the hot tub and cinema room. The air hockey and pool table were also big hit. There are only a couple areas that could be improved. Firstly the bedrooms could certainly benefit from a desk of some sort of table. Really is nowhere for personal items, laptop, etc. A simple addition of some luggage stands would be helpful. As it was most of our things were spread out on the floor. Not really a big deal, but certainly would enhance the experience.
Bedward F.on 07/01/2014
Everything was excellent. Everyone had a wonderful time. The only negative about the stay....the can opener was busted...go figure. Now if that's the only thing to have a negative on, you have to rate the management of the property on the EXCELLENT side. We'll be back :-)
Susan E.on 06/23/2014
The description was perfect. It was a 5 bedroom cabin and there was plenty of parking for everyone. The rooms were nice and comfortable. We had very good customer service only had to call for trash pick up and another little matter, but it was taken care of right away.I did recommend this property and others to friend and relatives and they were very pleased.I think i've stayed at Elk Spring about five or six times family has truly enjoyed their cabins.
Tamara B.on 06/05/2014
We loved every minute of our stay and wished we could stay longer. We got lost on the way to the cabin and had to call the office Katie was very helpful. At two different times two members of the staff called to ask us if we needing anything and how was our stay going . Lists of stuff to do inside the lumberjack lodge so it was very entertaining, and was very clean and neat.
Shirley G.on 05/16/2014
Great! Everyone need to go to the smoky mountains. Everything was beautiful, just Beautiful....We will be visiting again!!!
David D.on 04/25/2014
The cabin provided a much needed getaway with the chance to relax, watch movies, or even shoot some pool. A great place to go to get away from the hustle of the city.
Lester W.on 02/21/2014
Our group had a wonderful time at Lumberjack Lodge. I would recommend it to anyone.
The entire family loved the Lumberjack Lodge.
It was about a 15 minute drive to Gatlinburg attractions. When at the cabin it felt very secluded. The adults sit out on the patio or in the living room at night while the men grilled out.
If you didn't hear the noise you would have never know the kids were in the house. They absolutely loved the game room and only came down to eat. Most of the time they didn't want to leave the house to actually go and do stuff.
Would recommend this to any large family wanting to relax and have a good time.
The only things that I would suggest for the owners:
1. A few of the stairs need to be replaced (one step has a piece of loose wood and another had a crack through the middle).
2. The grill could be replaced. It took forever to get it lit and the bottom of the grill is starting to rust out.
Facility is great for a family or business group. Facility will sleep 14, however, the number of place settings for flatware is quite short of that number. There were barely enough towels provided for the 9 in my group. Had to request a clean comforter for one bed (dirty on arrival), and also requested additional towels. Comforter was delivered, towels were not. Good supply of dishes, Pans were in poor condition. Sofa and chair in main den need replacing.
The Lumberjack Lodge was everything we expected and more! Our family felt comfortable and the kids loved the game room and theater room! My only regret was not booking it for one more day!
Good experience for a short trip at smoky mountains
We loved the Lumberjack Lodge cabin! We had 6 women with us and we all had plenty of space. It's conveniently located on the outskirts of the main strip. There were lots of food delivery options, and amentities. The only downfall was the main floor was sticky, and the views weren't the best mountain views we had ever had. But all in all, I would definitely recommend this cabin!
Family and friends came. It was our first stay at Lumberjack Lodge but our second year with Elk Springs resort. All had a great time.
great amenities, very clean, everything worked -- loved it
The home itself was beautiful and very peaceful. However, the owners of the home need to restock the kitchen with some upgraded utensils. The kitchen was stocked with 5 wine glasses, no glassware other than some 16oz. tumblers. No salad bowl or salad tossers. The posts and pans were not safe to use as the teflon coating had been scratched off most of the pans. The size of pans were inadequate. I would highly recommend asking when the last time the kitchen was restocked before renting this home or any home at the Elksprings resort. Management was superb in responding to the needs as best as possible but not able to supply all that this home needs. That is the "owners" responsibility. There is absolutely no spices, salt or pepper. No saran wrap or aluminum foil. There is only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom. All in all a few extra daily needs would be advised. The family room does not have enough furniture to sit but 5 people. This is a big home that can sleep up to 12 people but the kitchen and furniture does not accommodate that number. The beds and pillows were fantastic. THE ONLY WAY I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOME IS IF IT WAS ADEQUATELY STOCKED.
We had a great time. Just a couple suggestions. The beds should have a mattress cover over that plastic. It's very uncomfortable with just a sheet. The hottub stunk like dirty laundry left in the washer. There was no cholorine in the container so we could not use it. That was disappointing as we were looking forward to that hottub. The sofa cushions kept slipping out every time we sat down - probably because they sit on a piece of plywood versus a fabric cover. Uncomfortable at best. We slept in the main floor which was very comfortable but two of the others said their beds were very uncomfortable and they woke up with back aches, especially the one on the top floor. It has big dips in the mattress.
Our family spent 3 nights-Lumberjack & we had a great time enjoying the game room, hot tub, theater room. The biggest complaint I have was we didn't get our cabin code to get into the cabin until I called several times and spoke with Lois and she finally gave me the code over the phone.(spoke with Lois several times with cabin issues)This was our 2nd time at Elk Springs and was a little disappointed in the customer service. Lois told me that they were doing a final run thru to the cabin 2 hours before 3pm so we waited with groceries in car right outside the cabin since it was such a nice day and no one ever came thru to do a final walk thru while we waited for 2 hours. The cabin was ready but not sure why we couldn't get in earlier if the cabin in ready especially when you are paying such a large amount of $ for the cabin in the first place. Of course, they expect you out by 10am otherwise there is a charge of $100 per/hr after that time. The first time I called Lois said she didn't have the code to give me over the phone until the cabin was ready but was able to give it to me after 3, this make no sense to me at all. The cabin was overall pretty clean with a few things minor things that could have been wiped and cleaned a little better. We had an issue with outlets in ALL 4 bathrooms that didn't work. One bedroom outlet downstairs had not power which wasn't a big deal but would have been nice to have working with everyone trying to power electronic devices. Called several times & maintenance came out. While maintenance was out we had a leakage in the top floor shower, which maintenance informed us that has happened in the past and told us to put towels down for now when showering so we did and that seemed to work. Overall, our family had a good time at the cabin and going out to Gatlinburg, the kids were able to do zip line, drove ATV/AV's, horse back riding. We made wonderful memories in Gatlinburg. Spending time with family at the cabin was great!
It was a perfect fit for our large family. Loved the Theater room.
We definately got our excercise going up and down the stairs.
Overall the cabin could be rated higher with a few easily managed issues.
The linens need to be replaced with new ones. Towels, sheets and wash cloths were pretty worn.
The mattress in the upstairs bedroom was in very poor condition.
TV's in some of the bedrooms were not "connected" to the system and would not receive the signal for programs.
HVAC system did not work well with this cabin. Outside temperatures were moderate so not a big issue for us but even with the good weather the cabin was comfortable on all floors. If the main floor was comfortable then the upstairs hot and lower level cold. Previous guests made the same comments in the guest book. I assume this was due to one unit servicing all three levels of living spaces.
The Elks Springs management called to check on us after check in and were available but we did not ask for any changes during our stay. It was a Holiday Weekend and nothing needed to be done immediately.
These comments, if followed thru on, would make a nice cabin much more enjoyable for future guests.
This was an amazing place, our 14 family members had plenty to do and plenty of space. While some were in the theater room, others were playing pool, or in the hot tub etc. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!
We saw this on groupon and thought it would be a great little vacation and it said it was pet friendly. After we had already booked, we found out that this resort has breed specific. We were very upset to learn that our sweet German Shepherd was not allowed in the cabins here. I'm sure this has something to do with the insurance the resort has but it was still disappointing none the less. If any dog is welcome, they should all be. Our dog is a part of our family, he is our baby. Despite this setback we packed up and left a member of the family behind. We got our call that our cabin was ready ahead of schedule, which was awesome! When we arrived everything was extremely clean, very luxurious, and spacious. (We had 11 people in our group). The cabin certainly exceeded all of our expectations. Everyone had a great time and wished we could stay longer. Others in our group have pitbulls and they are also not allowed. We would have stayed a week instead of 2 nights if we were able to bring our furry families with us too. Hopefully this will change. Other than the upsetting dog issue, everything was wonderful and we can definitely see why they are #1 on trip advisor. We are still giving them a great score but hope we can bring our WHOLE family next visit. (Dogs included)!
We rented this cabin over New Years with 5 families, including children. Plenty of room for everyone! The kitchen and great room was perfect for meals and entertaining. The game room and theater room provided a great space for the kids to play. Beds were comfortable and love the fact that the bedding (including the comforters) are washed after every stay. Cabin was clean and staff at Elk Springs was very friendly. I would definitely go back and rent this cabin again!
We enjoyed our stay at the Lumberjack Lodge!
This was a "first time" experience for many members of my family. Everyone enjoyed themselves and loved the cabin. It was a very memorable Thanksgiving for us all!
The family, parents , kids and grandkids ALL had a great time at the Lumberjack Lodge. The parents played games to the wee hours with the kids while the grandkids were upstairs watching movies and playing air hockey and pool. The location was far enough from Gatlinburg to seem rural yet close enough to get to everything in minutes. Have to say we just LOVED the entire experience!
-Easy access on the front side
-Spacious for our families
-Quick response from support staff when we had questions about our TV
=> Gas grill is too small and outdated; recommend getting a new one.
Lumberjack Lodge was a beautiful lodge. However, I did not like being on a graveled road, no cell phone service, and I didn't feel as if I were in the mountains. I have always stayed in the Ski Mt. area overlooking Gatlinburg and looking at the beautiful Smoky Mts. The grill was too small for a property as large as Lumberjack Lodge and it didn't work properly - had to use a cigarette lighter to light the gas element! The staff was extremely courteous and professional and my calls were answered in a very timely manner.
Quality facility and an extremely courteous and professional staff. HIGHLY recommended!
We had a great vacation and the Lumberjack Lodge was a wonderful cabin for two families, a total of ten people. It is an extremely comfortable and beautiful cabin with all the space and amenities needed for a great vacation!!
Everything exactly as described. Clean, good amenities, good location. Highly recommend.
