My wife and I gathered with 3 other couples for a 25 year reunion with my Army Buddies. From the time we pulled up to the log cabin, to the time we stepped into the cabin, we were very impressed on the cleanliness of the entire cabin. The rooms were very comfortable, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. We plan on coming back again next year around the same time, and hope we can rent the same cabin if it's available. I would close by saying, I recommend this cabin for rental to all that want to get away and have a wonderful time with family and friends. Keep up the good work!!
Mike C.on 07/24/2017
The cabin was large and spacious. The first thing we noticed is that the TVs, carpet, game room pool table and card table were old and in poor condition. Very uninspiring.
Deanna B.on 06/26/2017
The carpet in the theater room was torn and needs to be replaced. The old television need to be replaced with flat screens. The television on the lower level open area does not work. The toilet on the first floor has poor suction; therefore the toilet does not work that well. Besides these things the Fire in the Sky was wonderful.
Lisette D.on 06/17/2017
Our week at the Elk Springs Resort was fabulous. The cabin was clean and close to lots of awesome attractions. The kids loved the pool table and air hockey table and we all enjoyed the theater room.
Ebony B.on 04/21/2017
Had a couple small issues at first. Very Nice Cabin, cleaners need to clean better but whatever issues we had they came right out to fix,..
Ernest E.on 04/07/2017
we had fun the only thing that we didn't like was it was and event in town causing a lot of traffic and it was hard to get places. other than that we had great food and a lot of things to do.
Rita N.on 12/18/2016
We enjoyed our stay. However, it was very difficult to regulate the heat. Basement bedrooms were freezing, main lever bedrooms were hot. The cabin looks much nicer on line but overall was adequate.
John O.on 12/09/2016
I failed a test because the internet was down
the heat did not work downstairs
we saw cockroaches in the kitchen and when we arrived home we saw some more cockroaches get into our bag when we arrived home.
the book shelf had a nail and one of our children got stabbed in the head the toaster was not working properly
the food processor was not working the walls in the bathroom downstairs are dirty,
the sofa bed is broken
2 pots were burned inside
found someone's tooth from the previous renters
Craig K.on 11/22/2016
Met all of our expectations. Great place to getaway and relax with the family, yet close enough to enjoy area attractions...
Samuel B.on 09/09/2016
The staff was very courteous and helpful. The cabin exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, spacious and well equipped. The wrapped around decks were a welcomed surprised. Our party was very satisfied and will come back.
Janelle C.on 08/19/2016
I absolutely loved this cabin and the experience that went along with it! The cabin, in terms of cleanliness, was amazing!
Candace M.on 07/27/2016
We had a great time at the cabin with the exception of the 2 dirty conforters. We enjoyed the space and private bedrooms. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and gatherings. One of the guest thought it should have been more curtains up where he windows were bare. The attractions were awesome and close by. Everyone had agreat time we even had a visitor Mr. Fox. He smelled the food we grilled one night. We had a few spiders that I didn't like but I guess that's to be expected. I did want more towels but that's just me. Overall the stay was really great and we loved it. Thx for having us!
Derek G.on 07/08/2016
We really enjoyed the cabin and it was as advertised. The beds were comfy, views were great, and the location was perfect.
Jennifer C.on 07/02/2016
My family of 14 (4 families) loved our stay in the Fire in the Sky Cabin over Fourth of July week. The cabin was clean and air conditioned. The kids loved the media room and the adults loved the porch and hot tub outside. Our cabin was nestled in the woods. We were in the best location right outside the arts and crafts section of town. Definitely would recommend this cabin to friends. Thanks Elk Springs Resort!
Willard F.on 06/10/2016
Rented this cabin for a family reunion. Good cabin for a family with nice theater, game area. There were no movies available for the theater and it would have been nice to know ahead of time. Floors need refinishing badly. Table needs to be replaced or someone should learn to clean the cracks between the table boards. Silverwear in kitchen was broken, furniture was worn. The cabin seemed to have been renovated but there were old remnants visible. Limbs could be thinned out to give a better view. For the price it seemed to lack some quality/amenities. Seems there is a lack of information relay with the management agency. I checked out by phone at 09:15 and then had three voice mails after regaining phone service at 11:40 asking if I was extending my stay or checking out? Similar issue with confirming reservation when I called you can't leave a message to confirm and must call back and email notification state you can reply to confirm but email address is a NO-REPLY email. No other email is listed or indicated to reply to for confirmation. Pool indicated in the resort is a community public pool and isn't associated with the resort at all.

Wonderful!!! I couldn't of asked for a better experience. Fire in the Sky was perfect size for our family of 14. Everyone was impressed by the size, comfort, and cleanliness... We got married at the cabin during our stay! We'll be back, great job Elk Springs.
Dwayne M.on 05/19/2016
Great experience and time. I cant think of one complaints other then minor details. Staff was great place fit our needs and then some.
Jennifer S.on 05/05/2016
Customer service was great. No surprises!
Tonya S.on 03/20/2016
We booked a different cabin company, got to the cabin and it was horrible. We cancelled it and called Elk Springs and got excellent service. The price was higher but it was more than worth it. We previously stayed in Southern Philosophy and loved it and this time Fire in the Sky was a great cabin. We had a great time with family in a luxury cabin for Spring Break! We will only use Elk Springs Resort cabins in the future! The staff is always friendly and the cabins are in excellent condition! Thank you Elk Springs Resort!
Wendy J.on 03/04/2016
It was awesome and a great change for many of the people that stayed. We will be making this an annual trip.
Travis R.on 01/15/2016
The problem that we had was that the projector would cut off every 10 minutes like it was on a timer. I wouldn't want that cabin again. It ruined our Sunday movie night. There should be a way to watch tv in the theater room. It was late when we tried watching movies on Sunday. The tv near the pool table needs to be upgraded.
Adonys G.on 01/07/2016
Everything was great. Service was great, location was perfect and the cabin was spacious and comforting.
Joe J.on 12/26/2015
Very nice people to work with but I would caution anyone looking to rent that the pictures on the website do not always match the cabins they are renting. We rented Fire In The Sky for Christmas vacation and when we arrived the Air Hockey Table and Pool Table were not the ones they showed on the website and they were JUNK and unplayable.
Joanne P.on 09/11/2015
We rented the fire in the sky for 2 nights, found it on Groupon. It was a huge hit! 12 of us, worked perfectly! If we would have had 14, 2 would have been in a bed in the hallway. Not too far from Gatlinburg shops and a trolley stop.
Eric P.on 08/13/2015
Cabin is nice and clean. On day of arrival we noticed dripping in bathroom in basement. Water was coming from toilet above. We called them and serviceman showed up right away. He did some minor adjustments but once he left it still wasn't fixed. We called again the next day and someone did eventually come by again but bottom line is we were there Thursday - Sunday and issue never did get fixed.
The upstairs movie theater room was great... kids loved it. The pool table leaned HEAVILY to one side so was hard to actually lay a game.
Again, these were minor issues. Overall the cabin was great and all the families had a good time.
Gladys W.on 07/22/2015
Staff was courteous and the 3 cabins we rented, Lazy Daze, Lumberjack and Fire in the Sky were beautiful. They are were spacious and more than enough room to hod 50 of us. We can't wait to come back and visit!
Mary B.on 06/11/2015
It was so spacious and well equipped. There were 9 of us and everyone had plenty of space for us to spread out in and still come to together often. Kitchen was well equipped. It would have been helpful to have a list of what we should bring i.e. toilet paper, paper toweling, body soap, dish soap and what equipment was supplied i.e. 8 place setting of dishes, kitchen tools and pans included, small appliances, etc. There were some bugs in the lower level, which I called about, but if they sprayed it would have left and odor. Please check before guests arrive.
Adam L.on 04/04/2015
I've stayed at Elk Springs 3 times now. Each time has been a great experience. They are very professional, but most importantly, the cabins have always been very clean and well stocked. To me, those are the most important variables when traveling.
Fire in the Sky is a bit on the older side so there is a bit of wear on things like the pool table and the air hockey. Both of them were nearly unusable for the adults.
I recommend staying on their main "campus" off of Powdermill Rd. It's close enough to town and Food City but still far enough away from the town to feel like you're on vacation.
I will continue to come back to Elk Springs because of my string of great experiences and the 10% discount I get for coming back.
Lester W.on 02/27/2015
Our group enjoyed staying in this cabin. We had zero complaints.
Jamey J.on 02/20/2015
Great vacation place!
Betty B.on 11/27/2014
The rental was beautiful. We loved the way the rooms were spread out so that those playing games and watching movies were not interrupting those having conversations downstairs. The fireplace was beautiful an sooo warm! We had to turn it off because it kept the room too warm. However, we did have a few complaints. First the pullout bed downstairs was broken. After the first night, we did have someone from office come out and repair. It is a good thing we had extra throws from our cars because there we NO sheets and pillowcases for the pullout. No where were there extra blankets for the beds in case someone needed more covers. We also had a big wet spot on the carpet at the end of the steps in the basement, which house keeping felt it had been a spill from the previous quest. Unfortunately there was a very bad smell in one of the bedrooms as maybe something had died in the wall of the cabin. In the same room a nasty wash cloth was left from housekeeping on the bedpost. We reported this as well. In the kitchen, the dishwasher kept falling out of the wall. It too was fixed by house keeping. I realize these were minor issues but for a $2,000 3 night stay, these should NOT have been any apparent issues a quest should have to deal with during their stay.

'Fire in the Sky' is a great property to stay at. Entire was near and clean. All the utensils and devices were working. Entire enjoyed the stay. Pool table needs maintenance.
All in all it was a relaxing stay.
Ellen M.on 09/25/2014
I purchased this vacation rental through a Groupon. There was a issue with getting the Groupon applied to my reservation. I called a customer service rep at Elk Springs and she took care of me in a professional and timely manner. As for the cabin, it actually exceeded my expectations which is hard to do! I look forward to returning as soon as possible. From beginnning to end a wonderful experience.
Geneva M.on 08/10/2014
Overall this is a beautiful chalet, modern and clean. However the biggest complaint is no insulation! This chalet is all wood and the sounds of each floor seem to echo throughout the house. Third floor pool table and air hockey can be heard all through the house, walking on main level sounds like thunder to lower level...not ideal for kids and resting! The sofa bed that is on the lower level in the sitting area is absolutely useless and should be replaced, the frame is bent at the bottom and the very thin mattress hangs out of it. The boys ended up sleeping on the floor until we bought an air mattress. The kitchen is very well stocked but the skillets are not good, bring your own like we did. I LOVED the higher end gas grill and used it every day, that was a huge plus for us. Remotes were missing to the tv in a couple places so we ended up using from another room. The location is fantastic, you are climbing up the mountain but you really dont mind the gradual climb. Chalet is situated beautifully for viewing the mountains and the trees all around. I suggested that the property consider a recycling location where people can drop off bottles, plastics, cardboard as these things take up a lot of garbage can space which is limited, and it also promotes healthy behavior to keep this beautiful part of our country beautiful. Overall, I would recommend the chalet and Elk Springs, but know going in it is NOT quiet if you have children!!
Charles C.on 07/26/2014
The staff at the resort was awesome. Anytime we called with an issue, someone was sent to get the issue resolved. My only complaint was that some of the things in the cabin have not been kept up with since we were at this same cabin 4 years ago. For example, there is a chair in the movie room that has a lump in the seat, and made for very uncomfortable movie viewing. Also, there is some type of damage to the movie screen. It looks as though someone must have thrown something at it. There was a lot of dust caked up around the shower on the second floor (main floor), and it looks as though there was no deep cleaning going on there. Other than those things, the cabin itself was very comfortable and nice. As I said, the staff was fabulous.
Phaedra B.on 06/13/2014
The rooms were spacious! It was very clean!! All of the appliances were clean and available for use. My group thoroughly enjoyed themselves!!
Megan W.on 04/11/2014
The cabin was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. Our party had a great weekend stay. We were far enough away from the crowds but close enough if we wanted to go somewhere. Highly recommend this cabin and location! The only minor fault was out cabin was not ready at 3 but were able to go get groceries why we waited.
Jasmin J.on 03/07/2014
I had a wonderful stay at the cabin! Very clean and I love the quiet area would love to choose elks springs resort for all of my vacations!
Janis W.on 01/17/2014
My family and I stay in Elk Springs Cabins each January. We really enjoy the experience.
Alex S.on 11/07/2013
Customer service was great and very friendly. Made renting the property easy and painless.
Excellent cabin, very clean and lots of excellent features. The only criticism I have is that the beds were very uncomfortable and I woke up with back pain every morning. Aside from that one criticism the cabin was amazing, beautiful views and in excellent condition.
We had a lovely family getaway. The cabin was vey nice. It was easy to get to and close enough to town and hiking.
We stayed at Fire In the Sky in Sept 2017. We were a family of 6 adults and 2 small children. The cabin was everything a luxury cabin should be. Clean and spacious. The location inside Elk Springs resort was great as it was somewhat private amd set away from the other cabins. The water force and temperature was good. The beds were comfy. The decks were plentiful and included lots of rockers on each one as well as a picnic table, grill, and hot tub. TVs in all the rooms. Clean well equipped kitchen, and washer /dryer. Air conditioning worked well on all three levels. Wifi amd cell signal excellent. No mountain view but still in the wilderness with no neighbors lol. Check in amd out was as easy as it could be. I would stay at this cabin and work with this company every year from here on out.
Our family; including my husband, myself, our two married children, their spouses, and our 4 grandchildren spent a wonderful 3 days at "Fire in the Sky." I think we all wish it could have been longer, but the schedules of the teenage grandchildren prevented us from staying longer.
The cabin was great! It was very clean, well-equipped, and more than spacious enough for the 10 of us. The grandchildren especially enjoyed the billiards table and air hockey table. I enjoyed the hot tub. It felt really good, after a morning of white water rafting. The screen in the media room was perfect for watching our old family movies on DVD.
I would certainly stay there again, and highly recommend it to any family going to vacation in that ares.
Great cabin, great location.
Beautiful cabin, beautiful view, We loved it.
Great location and clean. Well equipped. The theater room is not represented right- more like plastic stadium seating and is not a blue-ray player. The kids liked it though. Very professional customer service.
It worked out well
The cabin was accurately described for for amount of guest it would sleep. It was an old cabin but clean. There were not enough towels for guests (we had 10). When we asked for more the maintenance dept made us go search the cabin to see if we had not looked in the right places for them, not once, but twice, before they agreed to bring more. You had to supply your own toilet paper, dish cleaning supplies (sponges, detergent, etc.), and we had to call to get hangers in the closets. The appliances looked nice, but did not work well. The game room was old (pool table slanted). The cable on the only nice TV cut in and out of service, not good for watching football. No good views. Location was close to entertainment and the hot tub did work. Lots of room for guests but very noisey creeking floors. No our idea of Luxury Cabin.
We loved it thank you!
Loved the rooms and the layout of ever
everything. Definitely will come back to this resort with family and friends. !
A little attention to the overall upkeep to this unit would do wonders. Ceiling fan(s) that didn't work or about to fall if they did, theater room that would only play cd's (no gaming inputs), broken rocking chairs, cooling system too small to handle summer heat (82 upper level-80 Units set at 73 by maint guy but to no avail...manual or auto can openers don't work....Just a little attention to detail and all this goes away...All the rental associates we had any dealings with were very helpful and professional...a big thank you to the folks on the phone
had a great vacation at Fire in these I at elk springs resort cabin was very nice. Had some mechanical issues with the cabin but their maintenance crew did a great job resolving problems quickly .
Accommodated our family well. A few set back were: (1) one cooking pot/pan (2) can opener did not make connection to open can (purchased one) (3) no bottle opener (purchased one) (4) no hose to refill hot tub (5) minimal amount of towels/wash rags. Besides the few disconnects, overall, it was a wonderful family event.
Pool table was broken, Hokey table was broken, blender was broken, shower was dirty, there was stains on the bed spread among soo many other things. I will never recommend this place to anyone...
I spent the weekend at Elk Springs with friends and it was such a great time! I definitely know I will be coming back
we all loved the rental unit. we had plenty of room and when we had a problem they were quick to answer and help.
It was very relaxing that inspired exploring nature.
Overall, excellent. Three observations... leaky faucet in first floor bathroom, continuous centipedes in lower floor tub, bunk bed need rails for top. We had three youngsters who we would not allow to sleep on top.
We rented this cabin for a group of 12 friends to get away for a long weekend. It was a great cabin for the purpose with an excellent location. Only 15 minutes from Gatlinburg and within an hour drive to other must do area activities.
There were a few minor disappointments with the cabin however. One most notable were that the pool table and air hockey table advertised with the cabin were a joke. The air hockey table was unusable because of the condition and the pool table was so uneven we were all laughing because once a ball would stop, it would start rolling in the opposite direction. While this did not affect our trip at all, please do not advertise something that is there but unusable.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this cabin for a large group of people.
Perfect chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and retreat to a beautiful cabin with friends. We were so content with all the furnishings and details, going into town was sure fun, but so was staying in and soaking in the peaceful surroundings at the cabin.
We have been going to Elk Springs for a number of years now with our youth group. This set up works great...girls in one cabin, boys in another! Our water was frozen when we first arrived, but the maintance guys were already there working on getting things thawed out. They did a great job and had us up and going in about an hour. The cabins are spacious and well kept.
Our only issue was with the heat. Even with closing the door to the rooms, the downstairs was still VERY COLD.
We loved Fire in the Sky. It was a beautiful cabin. The only problem was that the kitchen was not set up for the amount of people the cabin was supposed to house. We had to buy several things. There were not enough large skillets, large pans, cooking utensils, dish cloths, towels, etc. Also, the bar upstairs did not have a wine opener.
The cabin that we were in was flat out amazing. I loved every aspect of from the deck to the card table.
Great rental, great customer service, really good price for the amenities
Sorry to report that I wouldn't recommend this cabin to friends. It was far from being the "luxurious cabin" as advertised. It wasn't well equipped, furnished or clean. For instance, the kitchen knives were so dull, we used pocket knives to cut cheese and bread. The bathroom towels were thin and undersized. Lamp shades in all the rooms were dusty. Bedside reading lamps were either non-existent or limited to one. While the picture of the kitchen table and chairs looked as if it could seat eight people (which it we had), in fact, there was seating for seven because of a missing end bench. Lastly, where was the mountain view that seemed so prevalent in website pictures? Some of the other cabins may be better sited, cleaned and furnished than "Fire in the Sky", and less frustrating to us because we spent many hours planning this trip for eight adults to celebrate our 50th anniversaries, and we spent far too much money.
Nice cabin. Fairly clean. Deceiving view from deck in pictures showing view of mountains. Could only see trees?? Part of selling point was view from upper deck.
We stayed 3 nights and had a great overall experience.. the cabin was clean & equipped with everything we needed, we had something wrong & the maintenance man came straight outto help us.. I will be staying here our next stay in Gatlinburg!!
Relaxing convenient rejuvenating
Loved the home, beautiful location and built well. Furnishings were above average for a vacation rental. We loved our stay.
Overall we were pleased with our cabin, although the wifi was incredibly spotty. This was disappointing considering the fact that both families traveling are self-employed and needed to get work done while away. We were pleased with the size of the cabin and thought it was well cleaned!! Any interaction with the staff of Elk Springs was great - very professional, kind and willing to answer any questions we had!! Our only other issue was that the cabin was for 14 people, yet the grill was so small and took way too long to cook dinner for a group of that size!! Overall, our experience was positive, many memories were made and we'd definitely return . . . hoping for better wifi and a bigger grill! :)
Great place to stay with a really quality staff! HIGHLY recommended!
We had 10 people from age 7 to 78 stay in Fire in the Sky. We all loved it. Everyone had space to do their own thing or to come together. We cooked most meals in the cabin and had everything we needed in the beautiful kitchen and plenty of space for family meals at the unique table. Also a great table for family games! We could have stayed in the cabin just having fun together our entire vacation time and not even gone into Gatlinburg. It was relaxing, comfortable, safe, beautiful, and full of fun things to do (theatre room, pool table, card table, hot tub, deck for quiet reading time). Everyone hated to leave. We only had a minor incident when the ice maker wasn't working. We called the number provided and someone was at our door within 10 minutes to fix it. When he had to order a part for it and couldn't fix it immediately, he came back with a bag of ice for us. It was great service.
