Cabin was great. Views were spectacular
Aely N.on 04/12/2018
The cabin was very nice and cozy for a family and a small child. The views were breath taking but it was a little hard to see from the hot tub due to a small tree being right in the middle. Would definitely go back for a small getaway
Mai R.on 03/31/2018
The cabin was so cute and cozy! The view was amazing! This was perfect for what we needed. We were celebrating our two years and wanted to do something different than the Florida beach life. The weather was perfect and the cabin offered us a peaceful private, getaway. You could even hear the sound of the creek from below, which was so calming. We loved it!
Ashley P.on 03/17/2018
Bear Den was a wonderful place to stay! Nice, clean, and cozy. We would definitely visit again!
Jude M.on 03/11/2018
We had no trouble finding the cabin, as the directions were great. Also, the door and security instructions were clear and easy to follow.
The pictures online nearly match exactly what the rooms look like. Everything was in good working order, and very clean. The one exception was a sticky spill on the floor under the window area. However, this was not visible, and we understand how it could have been missed. Whoever spilled it knew it was there.
We are already planning a return trip with the kids, in a bigger cabin, and will use Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals again. Thanks for a great first trip to the Smokey Mountains!

Wonderful cabin. Perfect distance from town. Very clean. Very quiet. Great views of the mountains. Loved hearing the creek below.

The best vaca ever!
Andrea C.on 11/13/2017
Beautiful cabin! The interior was decorated very nice and the view from the living room and the bedroom were to die for! The hot tub and jacuzzi were one of my favorite parts. The location was good. Not too far from downtown Gatlinburg. The place was very clean and kept up. The only problem was that half of one of my days there was wasted waiting on the water to turn back on. It was about a 7 hour wait not being able to take a shower. Other than that, I highly recommend staying here.
Sophia S.on 11/09/2017
My experience at the Bear’s Den was breath taking! It created a romantic atmosphere and it was cozy.
Nancy P.on 09/03/2017
Renting a cabin in the mountains has been on my bucket list. I was not dissappointed. Meticulously maintained, beautiful view, private and just a short drive to Gatlinburg town. If you are looking for a great, quiet getaway spend it here. Fantastic! Thank you for sharing your fantastic cabins.
James G.on 08/24/2017
We loved the cabin. Being a little older, it was an experience that we weren't sure of, but we loved it. Usually stay in motels so this was a lovely change for us, very relaxing and a beautiful view. We did not do any cooking or eating at the cabin, but will if we do this again.
Kimber G.on 08/14/2017
We truly enjoyed this cabin and it's beautiful views. However, we we were very disappointed when there was no propane to use the fire pit of the grill. We followed the instructions that were left but were unable to use either. We would like to stay here again but hope these things work next time.
Bernie W.on 08/06/2017
The bbq grill rusted and needed to be replaced. Otherwise, everything was good. I love to come back again. Thank you.
Christal T.on 05/31/2017
We absolutely loved it. If your needing to get away from stress, this it the place to come. The weather was pleasant and boy almighty was it every so peaceful. The mountain view was beautiful as will. We can't wait to come back.
Rosemary A.on 05/08/2017
Very enjoyable and relaxing.
Bryan P.on 04/14/2017
Both myself and my girlfriend were extremely happy with our stay at Bear Den. Everything was exactly as advertised and the view was even better looking than the pictures! Everything worked perfectly and the cabin was extremely clean. The location was perfect for what we were hoping. Close enough to all the main attractions (about 15 minutes) but far enough that we were able to relax and just enjoy the quite view. We are already beginning to plan for a trip back next year and might even make this an annual trip. Would definitely recommend, as long as they don't want to book the same weekend as us :) Thanks again for everything!

I got charged for a smoking fee, when I smoked outside which was aloud, I regret my girlfriend didn't clean the cabin
Timothy D.on 03/31/2017
Had a lot of fun staying at the Bear Den cabin. The cabin was spectacular and the view was phenomenal.
James B.on 03/03/2017
Beautiful cabin with an amazing view of the mountains. The staff was very helpful and professional, we had a great time and will definitely be back to stay again
Fred O.on 02/08/2017

It was a great cabin with spectacular views.
Flynn C.on 09/16/2016
We couldn't be more pleased with our stay in Bear Den. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. We went grocery shopping before checking in and didn't leave the cabin until checkout. The mountain views were spectacular. I'd highly recommend this cabin. We will definitely be back.
Karen M.on 05/19/2016
This cute, clean, beautifully decorated cabin was perfect for a w/e getaway!! We really enjoyed it and didn't want to leave!
Ryan M.on 05/05/2016
Clean, and I mean vacuum marks on the carpet clean. The place was amazing. Not a thing out of order. Beautiful view. Quiet and private. A++ all around. I also have to give appreciation to the company because we forgot to checkout and realized on our drive home. I called and left a voicemail. I missed the return call, but they let me know it was ok and was wished a safe journey home. After spending hours online reading reviews of places to stay, this place had the best reviews. I will definitely agree that it was. We will be back. There were even polite signs posted throughout on how to work/handle different things related to the place (air, trash, the amazing hot tub). Just awesome. Oh!, the bed was amazingly comfortable for both myself and my GF who both have different tastes in mattress.
Nathan T.on 04/01/2016
Beautiful Veiw, I stayed in the bear den. Hot tub had a leak, so we had to fill it with cold water to use it every night. The heat stopped working so we woke up to a freezing cabin. Then on the last night the power wouldn't work to the stairs light, fan over master, and master lights. We decided to leave a day early. I waited in this review to see if Elkspring lodge would call me to try and make it right. Guess what they didn't. I didn't want a refund. So for the bad business part if rate the stay a 1, just for the veiw

This cabin was very clean, cozy, and had all the amenities we could ever need or want. We had a beautiful view of the mountains and all the luxuries of home plus some. I recommend staying here if you need some r&r at a fairly reasonable price.
Devin A.on 03/04/2016
Very clean cabin. They thought of everything we would need, I do wish it was a bit more secluded, but we lucked out and didn't have anyone on either side.
Chris R.on 01/16/2016
Place was perfect....super clean, everything worked well. Murphy bed upstairs was great for kids and we took downstairs a king bed which was super comfortable! A little "out of town" but not bad at all...only 10 min. Also less busy out there.
Donna B.on 01/09/2016
This is a beautiful cabin in a perfect location. The cabin is even nicer than the pictures show it to be, the furniture is in great shape and the bed is wonderfully comfortable. It was immaculate with high quality sheets and towels. The location of the cabin is away from the noise of the town, but within easy driving distance of Gatlinburg and the Great Smokey Mountain Park. We stayed for seven nights and we still didn't get to do everything we wanted to do. We can't wait to go back and we will absolutely stay at Elk Spring Resorts. I can't say enough good things about this cabin.
Kyle C.on 12/26/2015
Great experience. Great cabin. Friendly staff
Timothy F.on 11/19/2015
My girlfriend and I were more than satisfied with the whole experience with Elk Springs, checking in was very convenient and fast, no front desk to deal with, you just head to your cabin and they make sure everything is ready. I personally researched for days who had the best cabin rentals in Gatlinburg and I will say hands downs Elk Springs is number one. And I'll tell you why first off the cabins are amazing! We stayed in the "Bear Den" cabin which was very clean, king size bed was extremely comfortable, cabin already has all the plates and utensils you need to cook breakfast or whatever you'd like. Cozy couch with big screen and fireplace along with an amazing view. Hot tub was phenomenal right outside the bedroom door. I could go on and on about how the cabin was just perfect and exceeded my expectations. If you want the perfect romantic getaway do yourself a favor and go with Elk Springs, you won't be disappointed.
Robert N.on 10/26/2015
Cabin was clean and just as described.
View from the cabin was awesome!
Directions were easy to follow to get to cabins!
Very pleased with our stay.
Our only regret is only staying 3 nights, we will definitely stay a whole week next time.

We stayed at the Bear Den in Oct. 2015. It is a beautiful cabin. I can't imagine it being any nicer. We also enjoyed the beautiful view from the cabin and the surrounding area. I would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to stay in a relaxing and beautiful place.
David H.on 09/14/2015
The entire process for reserving and staying at the cabin was smooth and efficient. The location of our cabin was just in the right place. It was in a quiet area, but you were no more than 20 minutes away from anything you might need including downtown Gatlinburg and some great places to eat off the beaten path. We were happy with this entire experience!
Thom W.on 08/13/2015
This was a great stay, out of the hustle of downtown Gatlinburg (about a 20 min drive) and the cabin was very up to date with granite countertops, modern appliances, a very comfortable king bed and of course a great view. The management company was very good and followed up several times. My only problem and the reason I rated it four instead of five stars is they need to trim several trees that are growing taller than the top deck obstructing the perfect view as seen in this picture. The picture you see of the two chairs looking out isn't exactly as it looks now as there is a large, tall tree on the left side and other trees growing up. They need to trim several trees down to where it looks exactly like the picture as that can be deceiving. If you are sitting on the right chair you can see unobstructed. We would definitely come back to this cabin but would check before we make our next reservations to ensure they've trimmed down the trees.
Donald S.on 07/31/2015
We stayed at this cabin outside of Gatlinburg and really had a great time. The cabin was clean and everything was laid out for us when we got their. The only negative was a little too much road noise during the day. Other than that I was very pleased.
Bruce B.on 06/30/2015
had a great vacation in Gatlinburg and the cabin was beautiful. Hope to come back again soon
Christopher S.on 06/24/2015
We went for the Outdoors around the cabin, but what a treat it is to come back to this place. The cabin is two floors and looks like it was just built. Everything was just the way it's listed to be, dishes, hot tub, inside bath was a hot tub style, with jets and all. (came in handy on that rainy night.) all in all I really cant say enough, if you do get the place, look in the guest book, Lisa and Chris, we put down some great notes.
Trina Y.on 06/11/2015
Everything was great. There was an issue at the end of our stay because of the septic system and I kept in touch with the company to ensure everything ended up being ok. The pictures on the website were exact and everything was clean and there were plenty of needed things to cook etc... I always use Elk Springs because I never have an issue with the quality of cabins they manage. I just hope when people see signs in the cabin and they tell you not to do something please listen. Because of another guest, it caused us to have to leave earlier than we wanted to because of the septic system.
Tiffany C.on 05/31/2015
It was great! I would recommend this cabin to anyone. We loved everything about it and would love to stay there again.
David H.on 05/15/2015
This is our second time at Bear Den. As always, the facilities were lovely and the people who maintain the property were attentive and helpful. The view from the cabin is spectacular and has plenty of room for two people. It's a short drive the nearest store, and a short drive from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Couldn't complain about a thing!
DJ C.on 03/13/2015
I surprised my girlfriend with weekend trip to Gatlinburg. Proposed Friday night and it was very special. She loved the cabin and we had a lovely time.
I'm sure we'll be back!
Tiffany H.on 02/27/2015
It was great enjoyed the weekend
Christy D.on 01/01/2015
Over all good, cabin was laid out a bit different then we expected and was smaller then expected. The fans in the bathrooms had a lot of dust/dirt on them and the pillows on the couch looked stained. The master bathroom was very small from what I've seen in others I've stayed in. I've stayed in the same location but different cabin before and the other one was much better and cleaner.
Mike S.on 10/07/2014
it was our honeymoon and everything is as advertised, the cabin and views were amazing. It was clean and above standards, my wife and I have never stayed at a place that was as nice as the Bear Den, we already miss being there and can not wait to plan another vacation to back
Kristina D.on 09/13/2014
It was fantastic
Jason S.on 07/29/2014
Loved the cabin was very nice. Was nice to be away from the crowds of town this was our first time staying in a cabin. The re were a few things that we thought needs some attention the bed down stairs was like laying on a sponge wasn't comfortable we slept upstairs fro two nights and there were a lot of dead bugs on the window sill over the upstairs deck doors on the window sill
Matt B.on 07/07/2014
Loved it! Great time in and out of the cabin. It was just the right amount of "remote." I appreciated the call after our first day to make sure all was well, and after that we were left to ourselves. A wonderful experience from top to bottom. Enthusiastically recommended!
Brian Y.on 06/13/2014
We had an excellent stay at the Bear Den. We loved the cabin, the incredible views, and the feeling of being away from all the tourist trap areas so much that we rarely ventured out! Great way to relax and recharge! Would recommend the Bear Den to all!
Brian M.on 05/02/2014
This cabin is beautiful (Bear Den), super clean and very private. Definitively exceeded my expectations by far. Would recommend to anyone.
Ron C.on 04/14/2014
I surprised my wife with the cabin for our anniversary and everything was as promised. We spent 3 days and my only regret is that we didn't stay longer. We will definitely do again with family and friends. Be sure to read the diary that guests leave in the cabin as it helped us and we wrote many of our experiences there as well
Pamela T.on 04/05/2014
Fabulous mountain view, and the sound of the creek down below was so relaxing. Everyone was very friendly, got a great recommendation for a hike with our kids at Greenbriar. It was a little windy during our visit, so we couldn't take advantage of the firepit, but it was nice to have that amenity. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfy. The kids got a kick out of the murphy bed. Would totally recommend this cabin!
Scott F.on 03/27/2014
Great place; Made our Anniversary Celebration outstanding.
Mary D.on 02/11/2014
We didn't have one bad experience on our honeymoon. We will definitely be back!
Niket D.on 01/24/2014
Awesome place to stay for vacation with good view and amenities, will definitely come back.
Rebecca C.on 12/27/2013
The Bear Den was our family's first Gatlinburg cabin experience. It was so much more than we had even hoped for! From the beautiful view of the mountains & cozy living room upstairs to the master suite downstairs...we loved it all!! We enjoyed the pool table & hot tub. The soft luxury linens were a nice touch as well. The cabin was very convenient to downtown Gatlinburg & so easy to find. The staff was great. They even called to check on us after we arrived to see if we needed anything. The cabin was immaculately clean! It had everything we needed. The beds honestly were some of the most comfortable we've ever slept on (& we own a furniture business so we've tried several brands of mattresses)!! We look forward to our next Smokey Mountain getaway. We would love to stay at the Bear Den again!!
Randy S.on 11/03/2013
Beautiful, well equipped and maintained cabin. Bed very comfortable, nice view. HVAC did not work properly the first night, called, responded within 15 minutes, resolved, very courteous, professional, set expectations as to repairs, all met. Very comfortable cabin, perfect for a couple. great experience overall. Thank you.
This was a great cabin for our family of 3. Perfect size! We had amazing weather and enjoyed all of our activities. We stayed for 6 days and was perfect amount of time.
It's difficult writing this review as the trip turned out so badly for us. The cabins appearance was clean, and amenities were great. Unfortunately both my husband and I both sustained large numbers of bedbug bites which didn't appear until about ten hours after checking out. We had so many bites we had to seek medical attention. I had close to 100 on my face and lower arms and my husband had somewhere between 150-200 bites covering his entire body. Although they never returned out phone call, the resort did confirm via an email sent to me they sent in canines and confirmed the infestation. They did provide us with a full refund for our stay, but said they didn't feel covering our medical expenses was warranted since we had the use of a "beautiful cabin for six nights". Whoever sent us that note clearly has never had to deal with the four-fives days of sheer agony from that number of bites. We don't EVER want to see that cabin again. While we recognize that this is a problem all properties can have, we will not be renting, nor can we provide a good recommendation for Elk Springs Resorts.
Bear Den was a cute and clean little cabin! We have no complaints with our time here. The views were great and there is plenty to do while spending time at the cabin (hot tub, pool table). The bed in the master bedroom was SO comfy, you will almost instantly fall asleep when you hit the bed. Overall we had a great time on this trip, we spent our time outside of the cabin zip lining, riding horses, and riding ATV's. We will certainly be back!
We were very happy with our stay at Ben Den. The deck off the main floor offers a great view; however we were disappointed with the amount of noise that could be heard from a road nearby. For being a more remote location, the traffic noise was unexpected and detracted from the peaceful feeling we were looking for in the country. Overall a very well maintained and lovely stay.
Bear Den was just the right size for two of us. If our son had come with us, it would have been a bit tight. The cabin is pretty but there isn't any storage space for bags/luggage/clothing. The spiral staircase is brutal on the knees after long days of hiking, and it was a challenge to get our luggage up and down too. But as I said, it was sufficient for the two of us. The cabin we loved was lost in the 2016 fire and we aren't used to being so close to the highway. You can hear all the road traffic from the highway at Bear Den. The upstairs view is pretty, and there is no view downstairs but lots of privacy for the hot tub. The washer/dryer was used daily for all of our hiking/cycling clothes. So handy! The location wasn't at all where we thought it was going to be. That was tricky on VRBO.
It was great!
Everything was absolutely amazing. Great views. Mattress is incredible. Will definitely stay again.
The Bear Den delivered on everything promised. What few issues we had resolved quickly and with attention. While this cabin does indeed sleep 4 there's a catch. The bed upstairs in the dining room is a murphy bed that folds out of the wall. The master suite downstairs has a twisting staircase but no door so privacy is not included in the cabin. The bathrooms are very, very small. There's 16 inches between the toilet and the wall. It made showering a child very difficult. Don't misunderstand, the property is clean and ready to go with great views, internet, tv's, a fire pit and a hardwired gas grill. Privacy, not so much.
Excellent accommodation, beautiful stay, fast quality service/maintenance, very easy to get to. Only negative is you can hear road noise from the back deck.
Quite good. The cabin was as advertised and quite enjoyable.
The Bear Den is a well maintained cottage with a great view of the mountains. Even though you have neighbors on either side you never see them from your decks. The hot tub was so relaxing after a day of hiking. My husband and I played pool each evening after cooking dinner at the cottage. This was the most relaxing vacation I have ever been on. I would definitely use Elk Springs again!
Had a great stay at Bear Den! The cabin is a great mix of rustic charm and upscale luxury. The pictures on the website accurately reflect the state of the cabin with one exception - a tree has grown up on the left side of porch, so while the view is still awesome it is a little different than what is shown. The cabin has everything you need for a great stay and the kitchen has more than enough pans/knifes/cookware.
For us the cabin location was perfect. It is located ~20 min from Gatlinburg and the main entrance to the nation park. You are also 10 min from Greenbriar entrance and 15 min from the Cosby entrance. For us it was far enough away to avoid the traffic and crowds of Gaitlinburg, but still close enough to get to the park and restaurants without feeling like it was a long drive. One note is that while the cabin is not on the main road, it is still fairly close to 321 so during the day you could hear road noise, but when the traffic died down at nights there was none.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay!
beautiful cabin! Exceeded my expectations
This beautiful property is in an excellent location, away from the crowded Gatlinburg downtown but accessible to all activities. It's in a very clean and excellent condition and customer service is exceptional. We stayed for 4 nights and would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone. The view is fantastic and we didn't want to leave both decks! Absolutely perfect stay for our family.
High recommend Elk springs Resort the cabin was very clean and just as described. We can't wait to return.
Nice cabin, over priced. Photos of the view from the cabin were not realistic. They were taken from a much higher cabin. Made it appear as though cabin were located much higher. Disappointing.
Very kind and patient staff. They promptly returned calls though a little frustrating when having to leave message when you are lost and need directions. Beautiful cabin. Well stocked. Beautiful view.
Wonderful honeymoon getaway! The cabin was very clean and fully stocked. Couldn't have been more pleased with our stay in bear den!
The view and accommodations were perfect for a a quick romantic vacation. Would definitely go back.
We brought our 13 yr old granddaughter with us for her 1 st mountain vacation ! She absolutely loved the cabin and the view. The cabin was great ! Lots of room and it offered so much. She loved being able to eat our breakfast in with the view and playing pool. We definitely will come back to Gaitlinburg and will stay here again!
We had a great time in Bear Den. This was our 2nd time in this cabin and each time it has been amazing.
We stayed there on our Honeymoon and we were so pleased with the cabin! The pictures on the website are true to what it looked like in person! The views were great and it was far enough out, but not too far from all the activities in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge! We highly recommend the zipline tour at Climb Works as well, it's a minute away from the cabin!
Excellent Cabin, great location with very nice mountains view.
Cabin was perfect
