Best vacation we have had at Set Sail and this was our third family vacation there. The house is clean and makes you feel at home. My grandkids loved the private beach where they swim a while then take a break and try to fly cash for
Fiish. I listened to my audio books lying in the. Hammock.weather was sunny with no rain driving which was great, Did have a wind storm come thru one night
I would recommend this property especially with is so safe.

This was our 4th year to stay at Set Sail, I don’t think we could find anywhere that we’d like better. Our ages run from 6 to 72, with the Gulf access and the Bay, there is always something for everyone to do. My favorite time was having coffee watching the sun come up, reading my book and then taking a long walk on the beach. You don’t need to bring anything, kitchen has everything you’d ever need, there are games galore, fishing is great, the beach is great and the list goes on. We love Set Sail, I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with their stay there. Last year we were there for the hurricane and still had a wonderful time.

This was our third visit to Set Sail. Had a great time. House is perfect for the kids and grandkids.

This was my extended families second stay at Set Sail. We love the house, it is very roomy and the deck completely around the house is and added bonus. You can see the gulf and bay from the house. We used Set Sail again this year because we all loved the gazebo and the boardwalk to the gazebo. Seeing dolphins several times and other wild life is always fantastic to see. We would recommend Set Sail for anyone to use.

We loved the house. It was more then we expected! We have also stayed at Guest house and loved it, but would rent this one again. Fishing was great behind the house, and we loved the hammocks, especially in the morning with a cup of coffee. Our dogs loved the property as well. The only down side was all the other families with dogs that would walk and not pick up after thier pets, as we carried bags with us everywhere we went. But hands down one of the best rentals we have been to. We also love everyone at Island Resort Management, they are always cheerful and always very helpful!!

Wonderful! This peaceful Island is just what we wanted, friendly people, all “Mom and Pop” shops and places to eat and have a drink. Things to see and do but mostly just relax! “Set Sail” is a beautiful beach home with everything you might need. The decor is perfectly done. Everything was clean and well cared for. The Owners were wonderful to us and the Manegement group were always helpful. We enjoyed it so much ,we are coming back. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home!

The rental was very well appointed both with respect to furnishings and kitchen. Would definitely recommend to others. There are places where it could use a little paint, etc.

I’m going to try to make this simple.
Management: extremely responsive and accommodating
House: perfect for large families. Room to gather while allowing for privacy in the bedrooms with TVs and access to porch.
Kitchen: well equipped. Cooked everyday we were there. Had plenty off dishes.
Bedrooms: wonderfully comfortable beds!!!
Location: far enough from the next house that you felt like you had your own private beach. Lots of room to explore.
Island: very quaint and quiet. Loved how personable everyone was. Lots of great personalities on this island!
Amenities: pet friendly. Dogs loved the porches and hanging out on covered deck while we swung in the hammocks.
Food: we loved eating at JTs. They had great oysters! D’fry Station was great too. Skinners was closed so we drove to a nearby town call Bayou La Batre and grabbed some food at Bayou seafood market. Great people. Great food.
This island isn’t for the perpetually busy unless you busy yourself relaxing!
Overall experience: wonderful. We are looking to book again next year. Great way to bring in the the new year with your grown children and their family!

Our only complaint is the mattresses on the bunk beds and the sofa bed were
Terrible and need to be replaced. Several of the pots and pans were not clean.
Those who had the updated beds were happy.

We had a great time and can't wait to come again! The house was beautiful and Resort Management was great and so friendly We had some issues with Wifi and they were on top of it. The house is gorgeous and very well taken care of

Set Sail is the best of both worlds. Gulf side is great for big kids and the Bay for younger kids. Everything you need is provided. We love the games, fishing, shelling, porch sitting, swimming, etc. We've talked about going somewhere else but can't think of a reason, we truly do love this place.

Amazing, a true escape from hectic life. We slowed down and just enjoyed our family. We caught up , recharged. Returning as soon as possible. The house was beautiful and well stocked.
Steven M.on 05/13/2017
Took our three children ages 17, 19, and 21 and had a great time enjoying the bay, the gulf, and the unhurried atmosphere.

This was our first time renting a beach house, and it did not disappoint! Upon arrival we found a beautifully decorated house, that was very welcoming, and had views for days! The kitchen was fully stocked with whatever cooking utensil we needed. All towels (besides beach towels) were supplied which was amazing! There was a book shelf with endless reading materials, DVDs, and a game drawer, which were all utelized! All of these little details helped make our stay wonderful. We had 6 children with us and the house was very "kid" friendly. The beach was beautiful, and it was a nice perk to be able to have access to the bay and also the gulf, across the street! The cabana was equipped with hammocks, which were nice to swing in while the kids splashed in the bay. The wrap around porch was used to view dolphins daily as they passed on the bay side and also the gulf side! The kids enjoyed the Estuarium and also the Bird Sanctuary. We also made frequent visits the the island bakery...the cinnamon rolls and danishes are to die for! I spoke to Valerie, the home owner on more than one occasion and she always very friendly and informative. The memories made in this house will be lasting! Until next time Dauphin Island....

This home was just what our family needed - so spacious and comfortable. You have the bay in the back yard when you want to relax and the ocean in the front when you want to play in the waves. We loved sitting on the porch and watching the sunsets. I would recommend the house and the location to friends and family who want to get away from it all and create lasting memories.
Shirley P.on 04/08/2017
Some light bulbs were out, several plastic chairs on the back deck were broken, the washing machine was very slow. Views were fantastic, location could not have been better, furnishings were great. Booked for next year already.
Patty W.on 02/25/2017
We chose this home for our "girls trip", and we couldn't be happier. The home was very nice, and the private beach access was perfect. Great views of both the Bay and Gulf sides! We will definitely return!
Eileen K.on 07/09/2016
Our experience at Set Sail was just what we is a spacious and beautiful. The kitchen has everything you need and more. We rally enjoyed the private beach for our 8 year old and loved the hammocks in the gazebo. We had a great time.
Shashawn M.on 06/25/2016
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with our vacation rental. Everybody was very friendly and wonderful assistance in anything we needed.
Lavonne B.on 06/11/2016
Our second stay at Set Sail. We had plenty of room even with six adults, three kids and two dogs. Saw Dolphins, hermit crabs, shrimp boats and toured the fort and estuararium. Can't wait to come back.
Heather B.on 05/07/2016
Set Sail was everything we hoped it would be and more. When we first walked in, the beauty of the home took our breath away. The little details, the decorations, the spaciousness, the views, we knew we were in for a treat! We enjoyed viewing the bay from the back of the house and the gulf from the front! We enjoyed our mornings on the screened in porch drinking coffee and our evenings on the front porch with a glass of wine watching the gulf. During our stay we celebrated my Daughter's college graduation, Mother's Day, and my Birthday! What a gift to be able to celebrate all of that at Set Sail! We enjoyed dinner from J.T's, breakfast from the Lighthouse Bakery, and fresh seafood from Skinners. We spent most of our time on the private beach behind the house. It was so nice to be able to have the sun and the shade that the Gazebo provided. We all enjoyed being lazy in the hammocks! My husband fished everyday! My daughter and her friends took a day trip to New Orleans. They enjoyed being with each other at the house and played the games that were at the house at night! We all enjoyed the break from the stress of everyday life and just being together and sharing the peace this wonderful home brought us all! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner when we picked up the keys to the house and also got to see her when we left. I couldn't help but hug her! There are not enough words to describe how much we enjoyed our stay and how special this home is! It was our own peaceful paradise for the week. This was our first visit to Dauphin Island, but it will not be our last! We are all looking forward to our next visit to Set Sail! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!
We were very happy with this rental. The kitchen was very well equipped, we were able to find everything we needed. Our party included two families and the floor plan of the house was perfect to give us plenty of private space while also some great joint space. Overall we loved the house and hope to visit again soon!
Searched for rental on line. Most looked like decorated from college dorm room and basement leftovers. This house ver tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Private beach and dog friendly. Will be back.
A beautiful home and island. Very peaceful and relaxing. Beds are very comfortable and amenities were great! Negative was the Gulf beach was across the street and past a row of homes. Would definitely stay here again.
Great house on a sleepy little island. House is perfect for large families and is beautiful inside and out. Wifi is terrible though. Not many restaurants and no night life. A very good seafood market and a really cool general store. The ferry ride is way too expensive and even the Fort charges admission. Overall Dauphin Island is perfect for beach/bay sun lovers during the day and cooking in and playing family games at night. Be sure and check out the stars in the night sky.
Our family of 4 (plus our dog) stayed in the Set Sail property over spring break. It was our first time to Alabama, as well as to Dauphin Island. The house was amazing! There was so much room, it was spotless, the beds were so comfortable, and it had everything we could need during the week. Standing in the middle of the house, you have a view of the bay in the back and the Gulf in the front. From the moment we arrived, we could feel the stress just melt away. The folks at Island Rental Management were so kind and made sure we had all the information we needed. The app made everything so easy, especially when we checked out at 2 am. The beaches were the best we have ever visited. The bay in the backyard was so calm and serene, and the waves of the Gulf right across the street were so much fun for our boys to play in. The sunsets were breathtaking. We visited Fort Gaines and the aquarium and learned a bit of history of the island. Thank you so much for a most enjoyable trip! We would highly recommend staying at Set Sail!
Our stay was wonderful. Great house, amenities, easy check-in and check-out processes and we love the location!
Realtor rented place "out from under us " for next year. Very disappointed and found new realtor and place for next year
The house was just what we needed to prepare for my father's 80th birthday party in Bayou la Batre. Location was great for us and we explored the entire island. The living area is nice and open. The beds could have been more comfortable and the linens were not great. Corners and baseboards were dirty and there was dog hair under the couches. Doors need a little work because of salt air. Great spot that I would rent again.
This place is a wonderful hidden treasure. It is great for large families. The gazebo in back with hammocks is wonderful for relaxation as well as the 360 porch around the house. My large family had a wonderful time the week we stayed there. House is fully equipped with kitchen and washer/dryer. (although some of the pots in kitchen were rusty) The reason 4 of 5 stars is because 2 of the beds were covered in what I assume/hope was dog hair and we had to change the sheets the day of arrival. Plus the beds were not very comfy.
