Loved vacation home. Gated community made it a very quiet location. Right on the beach. Very spacious. Needed a few repairs in the upper deck. Lower deck was being replaced.

Beach House is large, in a great location and was once a beautiful home. The deck offers great views of some of the most beautiful sunsets. The beach is not crowded and it was very quiet and peaceful during our stay.
The master suite is huge as is the master bath. The kitchen, dining and living rooms are open and very attractive.
However, some maintenance is needed and cleanliness is an issue. Towels had holes and were in short supply. Every dish in the cupboards was cracked or chipped, carpets are pretty worn and the floors have a pretty steep slope at the back of the house. Some appliances don't work, such as the ice maker and we were glad that we brought our own grill. The management company responded quickly to our request for an exterminator.
There isn't a lot of beach behind the house. In fact, at high tide the water comes up under the house. But we enjoyed being close to the water and you can definitely hear the waves.
All in all, we enjoyed our first visit to Dauphin Island. But next time, I think we'll stay elsewhere.

The view from a chair or lounge on the deck was WATER,beautiful and serine. Walking in either direction on the beach was 's 1 mile to Fort Gaines, past the Bird Sanctuary where we enjoyed the Ospreys diving for fish. Early Fall is the best time to visit, not a lot of people on the beach and the water is still warm.Found a couple of sharks teeth and many tiny sand dollars. The house is very comfortable, however lacking dining room chairs(the agency brought us a card table & chairs so everyone could enjoy dinner together and share their adventures from the day!The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of bathrooms for this size house. The kitchen was well equipped(bring your own plastic food containers) We've booked the house for next October so we can enjoy the islands' Arts and Crafts Fair. Enjoyed fresh seafood from Skinners and Shrimp and grits at the Islander. Be sure to take the ferry to Fort Morgan, it is fun for the kids or the young at heart and don't miss Lamberts(Home of the thrown rolls)There is a ton of fun stuff to do on the island. We've been coming to this island for 5 years now and it never disappoints! We love it here!!! Enjoyed the evening sky, filled with stars (the Milky Way was visible). Saw many dolphins playing just off shore. I can't wait til we go back!

This beach house is awesome and great location and very close to the water. This house has plenty of room for everyone. I will be renting this property again. The only complaint is there needs to be more bath and kitchen towels. But not a deal breaker.

Good stay even during the tropical storm
Home repair is a concern - blinds are in shambles, floor in living room is sloping slightlyy , ice machine is not working and molded inside.
Cleanliness needs a close look for details, molds on shower curtain in jack and Jill bath downstairs, splashes on kitchen walls around trash can and locations where trash can probably has sat in the past. I will stop here but someone should follow up on the cleaning person and do a home inspection
Love your. Implant and employees!!

This was our 5th time to go to D.I., but our first time not staying on the west end of the island. We were not disappointed. The location was wonderful! You could not get any closer to the water, and we were able to it under the house when we needed shade instead of setting up umbrellas. The house was well appointed and had everything we needed.

We have stayed at this house four times (out of 7 visits to Dauphin Island). It is perfect for our needs. My Husband and I took two of our grown kids and their families (6Ad, 5Child) for a week. As I noted we have already booked again for next year. This side of the island has calmer water which is great for our little ones and for relaxing with a beverage out in the water. Many pluses....5BR and 4 1/2 baths...plenty of room for all. Lots of storage. Outside shower. Gulf is literally right off your deck. One of the best things is that you can sit under the deck on the back out of the sun and still enjoy the water. This house was under renovation last year and we had to go elsewhere....we were so glad to have "OUR" house back this year! Island Resort Management was very professional and easy to work with. Great experience all around!

My family and I stayed at the Beach House for a week last month. It was FUNTASTIC!! There was something special for everyone. The little ones loved playing on the beach right in front of the house!! The BIG kids fished and swam and relaxed. The size of the house is wonderful! Perfect for a large family. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone that needs a week of relaxation.
PS My favorite were the schools of dolphins which followed the shrimp boats which circled in front of the house every day. I highly recommend that you don't forget your binoculars!!
The "Beach House" that we've already scheduled for next year, was perfect! Clean, roomy enough for our entire family and a place we look forward to calling our home away from home, for many years to come. The location, in Audubon, is picture perfect. The perfect sand, the abundance of birds, fish, the adorable foxes who visited after night fall and the nightly crab catching (and releasing) has all made an impression on our family. The dolphins made the few raining mornings worth staying in and watching from balcony. The town, restaurants/bakery and perfect boutiques were the icing on the cake! Thank you for sharing your little peace of heaven with us for a week. -Until next year!
I want to sing the praises of Island Resort Management (especially Victoria) and the owner of this Beach House. For several years, my family has had the pleasure of vacationing in Dauphin Island every summer. When I found this Beach House last year, everyone loved it because it was the right size for us, a perfect location, and beautiful.
Recently, I emailed Island Resort Management with a special request. Three of our family members are permanently physically disabled. The layout of the Beach House is great: the 1st floor has 3 of the 5 bedrooms, several bathrooms, the kitchen, and the living room. There are handrails everywhere. However, one of the handrails stopped just a short way from the very bottom of the landing. This was perfectly fine for everyone else, but our disabled loved ones struggled with balance at this part of the stairs.
With tremendous hesitation due to the extreme unlikeliness of a positive answer, I asked if they could extend the existing railing before my family's visit in 2018. Without hesitation, Victoria sent a lovely reply agreeing! Within 1 month of my email, brand new handrails all the way up the stairway (at least 8-12 steps) had already been installed.
Let me just say, from long experience, businesses and property owners usually don't bend over backwards to help you with your physical disability. The fact that they were so kind to us with this unusual request is very touching to me. They spent a significant amount of money on something that was perfectly fine for most folks who stay there.
It meant much more to me than they can ever know. Now my family can enjoy each other's company even as the disabilities become more severe over time. We don't have to leave anyone at home because they don't feel safe. I don't have to carry worry on my shoulders during the vacation. This peace of mind means the world to me.
It is with great joy that my family plans to rent Beach House every year in
We had a wonderful stay at the Beach House! We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing setting and better weather. Would definitely return!
It was amazing! Being able to bring the entire family together under one roof again was priceless. The house made it very easy to just hang out, talk to one another all while listening to the waves of the ocean.
Our family of 10, including teens and seniors, all enjoyed the week. Plenty to see and literally on the beach. 2 dolphins put on a show for us one afternoon, just a few feet from our sunbathing teens. It really made the vacation for them. We would definitely recommend this rental.
Although it was literally right on the beach we had 3 little ones that were able to play in the shade in the sand and we didn't have to drag umbrellas out because they were able to play in the sand under the deck shade. We saw dolphins in the gulf water and had an occasional bird on our deck rail. The house itself is very spacious and the kitchen was awesome. We brought our own food and cooked all but 2 times. I had a little OCD and had to organize the dishes/utensils which seemed to be wherever. It was perfect for our family of 13. If I could I would definitely stay there again. I'd love to see it after they get get the beach restoration done.
Before I start I want to say that I did not report any of this to the rental company during my stay because while it was very disappointing to arrive to this low standard it did not impede our trip. I had higher expectations for the money we spent to stay here. I also took several photos of all the issues I am declaring. The house is located directly on the water and at certain times it swallows up what little beach area there is. Many problems related to cleanliness and maintenance of the home. Many dishes which were put away as clean had food stuck on them. There was a yellow stain on a piece of baseboard which looked like an animal PEED on it. The trash can in kitchen stunk like dead fish. There was a cockroach in the downstairs stairwell area. The upstairs queen room with bathroom had a shower curtain with mold all over it. There were several missing light bulbs and lights that were missing globes. Some of the windows did not latch properly and do not have screens in them. The living room ceiling has a big water leak stain spot and there were several areas throughout the place which needed drywall repairs. Downstairs hall closet ceiling was wide open to the attic space. The decking on the balcony had several nails sticking up. The concrete pad at the bottom of the home was all broke up at the ocean end and huge chunks of concrete were laying around. All the appliances were updated to stainless except the refrigerator which was rusted and moldy with broken shelves. Has an ice maker which was separate from the refrigerator. It was very nice to have. Bedding was not comfortable at all. Master bath shower door frame is separating from the wall which causes the door not to shut properly. the master bedroom door is not hung right and sticks before it shuts proper. The glass cooktop stove was broke in one corner. A broken window (glass) in the kitchen above the sink. no door stops on balcony doors which caused the doors to swing open and put holes in the side of the home. The holes were filled with foam but never stucco and repainted. Many door locks are not working properly. The living room floor has major structural issues as there is a noticeable slope.
Our family loved this house! It was very inviting and comfortable. The glass window/door ocean side provided beautiful views all day and night. This house sits practically on the water, so not a lot of beach area, but that was perfect for us as we were there to enjoy the water. The sound of the surf could be heard in some of the bedrooms at night, making for a peaceful experience. The large deck and chairs provided a great place to grab some sun during the day or to enjoy the beautiful night sky. The house itself was well cared for and very comfortable. The layout is convenient and inviting. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals. Although, the gated community was never "gated" the time we were there, the neighborhood was still very private and quiet. The couple minor issues we encountered were handled quickly and professionally by the caretakers. It was truly the perfect place for our perfect vacation.
The house is right on the beach. The beach isn't very wide at this point, but it is right outside your door. It worked great for us. Beautiful. The house is in a small neighborhood of houses so this stretch of beach is nice and quiet and not too crowded. The refrigerator has some duct tape holding the shelves together. Other than that, the kitchen and living room are beautiful and in great shape. The bedrooms are huge. We would stay here again.
The Beach House was everything and more than we expected from the pics on the internet, which can always be a gamble. The house was very nice, big and roomy; loved the whirlpool tub in the master bath; deck has the most amazing views; house is located almost directly on the water with just enough beach in front of house to have plenty of fun! Great location next to the bird sanctuary; plenty of beach to walk in either direction; saw dolphins numerous times from the house, absolutele paradise! Our second visit to the island, and we have fallen in love with Dauphin Island, everyone is friendly, beautiful public beaches, numerous parks, bike trails, learning opportunities at the estruarium and historic Fort Gaines, and the best steamed shrimp we've ever had at Skinners almost every day! Making plans to stay permanently one day!
Comfortable, not decorated like a beach rental; more like home. Much appreciated. Surf was spectacular! No traffic! Quiet! Moon! Warm! Sunny! Fireplace at night! Life is great @ The Beach House! Beds...comfortable.. .not so much but everything else made up. Kudos to the owners, well appointed , maintained & decorated. We appreciate sharing your home & would have you in ours!
We had a wonderful time at Dauphin Island Beach House...You can't get any closer to the water unless you are in a boat!! Carla and her staff was just great!! We slept 10 very comfortably!!!...We would return and would highly recommend!!! Great Job Carla!!!
