Was as advertied. Very nice stay. Called Island Resort with a question and was resolved quickly and better than expected.

The condo was nice, and I would consider staying again. The beach and pool were never busy or overly crowded. There are not many "tourist" attractions, which is one of the main reasons we decided to try Dauphin Island. Mini golf (the owner was incredibly sweet and offered to take our picture)and Dauphin Island Sea Lab were the most fun for my children, ages 6 and 9. Lighthouse Bakery is absolutely delicious, cinnamon rolls are to die for. Pirates Pleasure has the best dinner, everything tastes great. My only complaints would be the guestroom mattresses are little uncomfortable (we have Tempur mattresses at home, so nothing compares). There were a few very small maintenance issues with the condo, but other than that, everything was clean, comfortable, and enjoyable!

The condo was nice. It had a nice kitchen and washer and dryer. There were a few things i'd change to accommodate families better. First the living room TV is quite small. It's in a TV cabinet that cuts the view of it from the side. So all 6 of us had to squish in the middle to see it. No DVD player in the bedrooms especially the one with the bunk beds...the kids stayed in there and it would have been nice to have a DVD player in there especially when there's bad weather and the satellite signal crashes. The jet tub is EXTREMELY loud when you turn it scared my little ones to death...lol....needless to say we didn't use it but one time. The beds weren't as comfortable as I'd hope they would have been. Our king bed and the queen in the kids room kind of squeaked when you got into bed. I also had to buy a pan to cook with because there wasn't a decent non-stick pan to cook in...there was a tiny one and then one big one with humps in it which made it hard to cook things like pancakes and stuff. The only serious complaint I have is the floors were not clean like they should have been. I mean they were swept but NOT mopped like they should have been. My 10 month old was crawling around and I noticed his knees, hands and the tops of his feet were BLACK...and then I looked at our feet and they were black too! :( I did take a wet towel and dish soap (I didn't have any floor cleaner nor could I find any there) and wiped the floors down as best as I could. The carpets had stains and you could tell weren't shampooed often. It needs a REALLY REALLY good thorough cleaning...like bleach, soap and HOT water cleaning. The resort itself was nice. It had nice pools and I LOVED the fact we could park right outside of our room, which made it super easy to load and unload things. Not a bad place to stay but a little over priced for the condition.
Holiday Isle is a seasoned, but well-maintained condo facility on Dauphine Island. Rental units for Peak season were a bit less expensive than Gulf Shore proper units. Also, we shaved about an hour-and-a-half off of our driving time due to the proximity of Dauphine Island to us.
Our condo unit was spacious and wide unlike many of the shotgun models you see elsewhere along Gulf Coast. Outdoor pool was clean and kept up. Workout room and tennis courts were nice features. Three-level gated parking garage was great.
Only drawback was walk to the beachhead, which apparently is continuing to expand due to dredging of Mobile Bay (this is what a local told us). The boardwalk is one of the longest I've ever experienced to get from your condo to the beach. And then there is a pretty good walk from the end of the boardwalk itself to water. The sand was fine, the water good. I could have done without the panoramic view of the off-shore oil rigs. I realize oil is a big part of the South Alabama-Louisiana economy, but...
Dauphine Island is a quiet, quaint fishing town. You have limitations of dining options, but there are some jewels, such as the Lighthouse Bakery and Miguel's Mexican.
Grocery shopping is limited, so make sure you load up on groceries before you cross the bridge into Dauphine Island or do what we did and take the ferry across Mobile Bay into Gulf Shores and shop there.
We enjoyed our stay at the condo. Owner might consider replacing patio furniture and eating utensils were sparse. Other than that we were very satisfied with the unit. Being able to access unit directly from parking was a real plus
We had a wonderful time at this condo. The weather was perfect the whole week. Being able to park right at your condo was a plus. Property management was very friendly and helpful. The condo was basically clean but could use a deep clean. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay.
