The place is smaller than the pictures look, the queen sized mattress in the first bedroom is squishy

Great location in North Tahoe. Amenities were an added bonus, Especially on a rainy day. Enjoyed the Par Course every morning and the Pool & Hot Tub every night. Great place to stay for a family or group vacation.

This was a nice property in a great location just off the water by a walking block. It is quite large in terms of bed spaces. The kitchen is small, but nice with eating area/dining room. It is nice, but not fancy. The community is very family oriented with a club house, pool (good for kids) and tennis courts. Nice Carnelian Bay location.
Our condo was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The kitchen supplies were very minimal and old, but fine. Some coffee filters would have been a nice touch. We also has a visit from a small mouse one evening.
We happened to be visiting during the week that the pool and hottub were closed. That was a bummer.
I have to say I found half of the staff cold and unaccommodating. The old change machine in the game room ate 2 of our dollars and seemed to be working part time. When I let the Monday lounge staff know, they reluctantly gave me 2 dollars out of there pockets, no apology. Very strange interaction.
The nearby beach is lovely.
I would consider staying here again, but would make sure the pool is open, bring my own quarters and not expect much from the employees.
The rental place is nestled in a quiet area, great neighborhood, close to Lake Tahoe. Lot of activities like trekking, biking along the lake, hiking etc. is possible. Lots of restaurents and shopping facilities.
I would say that the greenwood condo was in a very convient location. The pool, game room and tennis courts were also a plus with kids. The condo had a great layout and everything one would need (except extra linens and blankets). Some feedback includes needing thelp fix the carpet in the loft. A few of my kids stepped on a row of tacks that need to be secured back down. Also, there is a mouse problem in the kit men. Despite cleaning very well and putting food away, we awoke each morning to mouse droppings on the counters. One more that would be to add a pair of salad tongs to your utensil drawer. Also, kitchen and bath matts were very dirty when we arrived. We washed the bath matts but the kitchen matts might just be stained.
The place was clean and tidy, though I think maybe it is time to replace some of the furniture & fix the cabinet so it can close well :)
Overall, we had enjoyed our stay.
The bathrooms have been updated as has the downstairs bedroom, but the rest of the property is very shabby. The kitchen is unimproved and unpleasant. Most furniture is very worn and the living room sofa had a large stain across both cushions which made it seem that some child used it for a bed. One of the twin beds in the loft is completely broken down to the floor and was not useable. The dark green carpet seems like it's hiding a lot of stains. Care has not been given to the details. The throw rugs in the kitchen were so filthy we rolled them up and took them out. Small details are overlooked -- a wall clock that is stopped, burnt out lightbulbs, unwashed cooking pots. For what we paid, we felt somewhat disappointed. This place isn't terrible, and the setting of the complex, the gorgeous pool and spa made our vacation still worthwhile, but it would have been much more enjoyable in a condo where the owners actually cared of about their guests experience.
The location of this unit is perfect. Close to the beach and restaurants. I took my 5 grandchildren up to Tahoe We had plenty of space plus we loved the pool. The unit is fully stocked with everything you need. I plan to rent here again.
The cabin was spotless. Perfect layout even with our 5 kids there was enough beds and enough space. 20 mins from Northstar. The kitchen was ok but worked for feeding everyone. I would recommend this to everyone with a large family and a budget.
We booked this condo just a week before leaving for a last minute summer vacation. The condo is in a really good location and Carnelian Woods is great for families due to all the amenities. The condo itself was very clean and has nice new bathrooms. The kitchen is clean but original and could really use updating (only new flooring). It is small but stocked pretty well with pots, pans, dishes, etc. Kitchen cabinets are old and unlined (liners would help give them a cleaner feel down where pots are stored).
Upstairs loft bedroom could use new mattresses, but are okay. Definitely need to put your earlier risers up in loft as once someone is in the kitchen/living area below, it is difficult to sleep. Downstairs mattresses are fine. I really liked the location of the condo and Carnelian Bay is gorgeous and less crowded. I didn't love the three level floor plan, but it worked out fine. I wished there were larger decks to enjoy the outdoors from, but nothing owner can do regarding that. Upper deck is mostly filled with a large BBQ grill with room left for just one chair. We had a great vacation overall and were glad we had a nice, quiet, clean place to stay.
This condo was in need of updating, other than the bathrooms, it looks like nothing much has been updated in 20 years. The beds were comfortable, and the living space nice for visiting and socializing. The kitchen lacked a decent coffee pot, and did not have a blender, but there was plenty of plate, flatware and glasses.
Carnelian Bay's North Lake Tahoe location makes for a great, quiet getway. Close to the casinos of North Lake Tahoe, public beaches, paddleboarding, kayaking, and more, this location has it all no matter what the season. Family-friendly skiing and snowboarding is close by at Northstar Ski Resort. But you're also right on the lake in Carnelian Bay. Rent kayaks or canoes, or a boat, and hit the lake. Or just sit at the beach and sunbathe or read a book. You can rent Jet skis too, or parasail or wind surf - fishing is also very popular as well. You can pay for a tour or just rent some gear and a boat and hit the lake. Magic Carpet Golf offers some great mini golf and Commons Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area, offering a beautiful view and great swimming conditions.
