We owned a home in Cedar Flats for over 40 years. We want to move back to Tahoe. Is this home for sale?

Comfy and cozy with good amenities. Close to the lake and grocery shopping (cooked dinner every night ... then s'mores on the deck!). Nice neighborhood and friendly neighbors (including their dogs). Kids fought over the loft spaces, of course. We're looking forward to spending more time here.

Great location, great home...loved the 4 "guests" that welcomed us (1 black lab, 2 golden retrieivers and the husky) the only thing we missed was a TV in the Bedroom (we only used the Master)

We were lucky to have rented Jeff's Mountain Chalet for Christmas during the incredible snow storms of 2015! His place was the perfect refuge from the storms with the gas fireplace, large, well-equiped kitchen, and plow service! Our Golden Retriever loved all the dogs in the neighborhood who would come and visit whenever we were outside.

We all had a wonderful time at the chalet. One concern: The sunken living room caused a near disaster. Where it makes a left turn there is an open space, while not watching I dropped with one leg 2 feet to the bottom level. The chain in that corner is angled leaving the open space. Fortunately I suffered no injury. We simply moved the lounge chair to cover the opening. space.

The home was nice, roof over your head and everything worked and was well stocked. Great bang for the buck, with wonderful weather. We have never been to Lake Tahoe and we rented this home as our " Vacation getaway" , stating two adults and one dog. We took our Great Dane with us this year and needed a pet friendly home. For some reason "pet friendly" in Lake Tahoe means homes that have been damaged by pets from previous renters, but not be repaired. This also means that front and side yards of this home have become "poop" grounds for all of other many unleashed dogs in the neighborhood. The rule for keeping your dog on a leash and barking seems to only apply to vacation renters and not the locals. We had to use our deck furnishing to block and keep the neighbors dogs from walking up on the deck the whole week. This also meant we could not walk our dog, as some of the (wonders) were not friendly.
The home sits beside to active child day cares, one next store and across the street. Although the kids were noisy at times, it ruined the deck and hot tub atmosphere, as you over looked the back and front yards filled with kids, large toys and what ever else (Junk), not to mention the traffic in and out.
Not sure on what advise to give, other than look at remarks column, two adults, no kids, add more filters or more pictures to inform or advise tenants on this or a different location. After all isn't Tahoe Getaways selling Vacation Getaways? We asked our rep from Tahoe Getaways about this, only to be told, that is common in this neighborhood and should have gone somewhere else!! How are we to know that! so lesson learned.
If what I mention above doesn't bother you then this home is fine.

We all went up here for the Trans Tahoe swim last weekend. Tahoe Getaways was wonderful to work with and the house was just what we needed. It was clean, well-stocked and in the right location. The only less than perfect thing is that the main room is not very large and doesn't have too much seating but the bedrooms are huge and very nice. Zero complaints and I would absolutely stay there again.

The house worked out very well for us. It is hard to tell from the pictures/descriptions what the sleeping options are but there are: two bedrooms with queen size beds, one upstairs and one on the ground floor; an open loft above the living room with a futon; and another room with a king-sized bed that has a loft above it. We parents took the queen-sized bed on the ground floor and let the kids sort out the top. The house has a two car garage which we used to store our three kayaks and three mountain bikes that we hauled up along with a trailer. The hot tub worked well and seats about 4 but only the wife and I used it late at night (nice). I am sure it gets much more use during the ski season.
The property management people were very helpful. We would definitely stay there again the next time we come to Lake Tahoe.

Nice property good location and in good condition.
We stayed here for our annual family reunion and it worked out beautifully. The home has a wonderful mountain retreat feel about it and is conveniently located between Kings Beach and Tahoe City. Check in was really fast and simple. The hot tub on the deck is great and our 11 year old loved the loft over the master bedroom. The kitchen, while a bit dated, had everything we needed. The one thing that some of us weren't crazy about was carpeting in the bathrooms. As a rental property, we just weren't sure how clean the bathroom carpet could be. Overall, this was a great house and a super value for a three night stay in Tahoe!
We had the pleasure of staying at Jeff's Mountain Chalet for a weekend in September and really enjoyed it! I had been there many times before in the winter time but it's amazing how nice it is there also during the summer. And Tahoe Getaways made it very easy all around.

This is our third stay at Jeff's--we come back every summer because it's affordable,hassle-free,and stocked with all the house-stuff we need. Plus the location amidst the pines, and fronting miles of hiking and biking trails is great.
Mark & Glenda Luederson 01/02/2013
Nice home, well-appointed (all the stuff you need is there), great hot tub on the back deck, deck sun furniture, and despite no lake views, a great pine woods ambience.
Jeff's Chalet was amazing and so much better than we expected. We have stayed at other rental properties and have always been underwhelmed. Not the case with Tahoe Getaways. They were so easy to work with and everything was taken care of before we arrived. No worries once we got to the house...only pure bliss!
i thought the rental service was easy and efficient to use. i enjoyed the home and it was perfect that we could bring small dogs. i thought the location of the house was fantastic, as a lot of snowshoeing hikes were close by for the people that weren't snowboarding. however, the roads in that neighborhood were not cleaned very well and led to quite a few stressful departures and arrivals. it wasn't easy putting on chains to leave the neighborhood, only to take them off when we arrived on the main hwy. the amenities were great, the hot tub was new and worked very well. we appreciated the ease of use with the cover on the hot tub. the kitchen was stocked very well with condiments and extra supplies! actually the entire house was stocked very well. the house is a bit older so, the design is a little awkward. the sunken living room is very cozy, but we had to set up barriers so someone wouldn't fall in by accident. the bathroom location was a bit odd as it faced out into the dining room and living room?! probably would have been more private if it was attached to the bedroom. we were unclear about the snowplow situation, so the driveway was very icy and we had to shovel snow a few times when we were there. we loved the remote location of the home in a very quiet neighborhood. we appreciated the great $ deal we got on the house as it was quite affordable. we also thought the house was stocked really well in the kitchen and bathrooms. well done!
The place was great and spacious. We had great meals, enjoyed the hot tub and went for a awesome hike down near Emerald Bay on Saturday. Tahoe Getaways was real easy to deal with, everything went very smoothly.
Overall, this was a good place to stay, especially for the price. The house is a great size & layout (we had 4-6 people), in a great location, was very clean, and was very well stocked with plenty of toiletries & a full kitchen. The management company also was easy to work with, and responsive. On the down side, the whole place is carpeted and the bathrooms and kitchen are out of date.
Great location, house was smaller then we thought even though we knew the square fottage. Loft in master bedroom should not count as sleeping area. difficvult to get up to and dusty.
Need toput pics of hot tub on website, it was old and faded , dirty, loys of foam floating on top.
My friends and I were coming up to Tahoe for the "Tough Mudder" event happening in Northstar and after a couple of months of searching for a house that could fit enough of us at a reasonable price we landed on Jeff's Mountain Chalet. Literally could not have asked for anything better! Close to both Tahoe City and Incline so we could easily move around the North Shore and also very close to Garwoods so we were able to keep the "Wet Woodys" flowing. Hot Tub was also very clutch!
Carnelian Bay's North Lake Tahoe location makes for a great, quiet getway. Close to the casinos of North Lake Tahoe, public beaches, paddleboarding, kayaking, and more, this location has it all no matter what the season. Family-friendly skiing and snowboarding is close by at Northstar Ski Resort. But you're also right on the lake in Carnelian Bay. Rent kayaks or canoes, or a boat, and hit the lake. Or just sit at the beach and sunbathe or read a book. You can rent Jet skis too, or parasail or wind surf - fishing is also very popular as well. You can pay for a tour or just rent some gear and a boat and hit the lake. Magic Carpet Golf offers some great mini golf and Commons Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area, offering a beautiful view and great swimming conditions.
